Disco '77 sounds fun - was that a Soul Train-type lip-synch show?

I have no recollection of that one.

Found this comment in discogs.com:

The song was really great. I was with the group Sassy and performed when the group was featured on the Hit TV show Disco '77. I was the male Violinist, seated behind the Guitar player. My name was Michael Campiglia, but I later changed it to Sky President. We cut the record in the factory district of Hialeah, Florida and the show was taped at Pete and Lenny's in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I still have an original version of the Album sided-45 rpm recording given to me by Ray Martinez (the composer). He gave it to me on my Birthday and he had it signed by two big names of Disco with whom we were performing, that night. Ray Martinez, the composer, was a genius and had many other songs that never made it but that were exceptional. The picture at the top of the Discog's site of the recording is spot-on.

Cool! Seems like that was a Henry Stone label, maybe.

Crap — I was just about to file paperwork to change my legal name to Sky President, and that guy beat me to it.

Suspicion seems correct - the songwriter mentioned, Ray Martinez, worked for Henry Stone at TK Records. Martinez was also behind the disco studio group Amant ("If There's Love" - a cool track).

Holy shit back in the day you could see Pasolini on Channel 7!

I’m old enough to remember when TV stations showed random old movies, but something like Pasolini would have been on a public tv station not WABC!
