PANDEMIC MEANS NO GO OUT AND NO GO OUT MEANS ME WATCH TELEVISION AND I watched a lot of it. You did too! Let's poll it together!

Post your nominations here. Any series released anywhere in the world that includes more than three episodes that premiered in 2020 qualifies for voting.
Please specify primary network/streamer that it aired on.

Acceptable nominations: YouTube/Twitch streamers with a recognizable episode-to-episode continuity whether fictional or presentational, web series, streaming series, cable series, game shows, news shows, animation, talk shows.

Unacceptable nominations: sports, concerts, one-episode documentaries or made-for-tv films, music videos.

Nominations close on January 7 and then we take two weeks to vote. I'll aim to run the results in late January/early February.
I am open to discussion on how we structure ballot scoring and we can use this thread to discuss that.

What have you been watching?

technically, we could include The Good Place as its final four episodes aired in 2020, but seeing as it placed in last year's poll and that 2019 voting came in once those episodes were over, I'm inclined not to. What say you?

BTW, Bojack did place #14 in the 2019 poll but the final eight episodes were not part of that vote, as they came out on January 31... so any votes should be for that final half of the last season as a stand-alone show.

I appreciate the thinking ahead but I would ask that we only nominate shows that we might possibly vote for by the time voting comes around... so I'm okay if you're nominating something in advance of a planned watch prior to Feb 1 but otherwise, no need for completism.

legitimately floored to learn that homeland was airing new episodes in 2020-

TBH it actually ended quite well I thought!

Lower Decks should probably be Star Trek: Lower Decks in case someone was going alphabetically in the list and would be surprised to see it missing.

Missed this thread but will still vote.

Would probably have nominated the following that aren't on the list:

Into The Night
Upload
Tales from the Loop
Locke & Key
The Good Place
Wizards: Tales of Arcadia

groovypanda, Sunday, 10 January 2021 16:51 (two weeks ago) link

I haven’t seen it but people had good things to say about ZeroZeroZero on Amazon.

Chris L, Sunday, 10 January 2021 17:03 (two weeks ago) link

First few episodes were very good but felt it lost its way a bit after that. Quite a bit of crossover with the Gomorrah production crew I think.

groovypanda, Sunday, 10 January 2021 17:53 (two weeks ago) link

I don't think I'm voting but I would have given a few points to The Shivering Truth

omg fuck was The Shivering Truth not nominated? entire poll invalid ffs

imago, Sunday, 10 January 2021 18:19 (two weeks ago) link

i mean, vote for it if you want to as long as it came out in 2020? the nominations are to provide people with lines to color within.

the serious avant-garde universalist right now (forksclovetofu), Sunday, 10 January 2021 18:26 (two weeks ago) link

it did. Good Place finale also amazing and glad it got picked up

imago, Sunday, 10 January 2021 18:33 (two weeks ago) link

incidentally The Good Place placed in last year's poll, finished before the voting ended in 2020 and is not eligible for voting this year

ok i am no longer glad!

Avenue 5 (HBO)

The Queen’s Gambit (Netflix)

maura, Friday, 22 January 2021 17:30 (three days ago) link

ah dammit how are you not going to have avenue 5 or superstore

maura, Friday, 22 January 2021 17:31 (three days ago) link

vote for em if you want to Maura! you're just late to the party. anything that premiered three or more episodes somewhere in the world in 2020 is valid.
