calling in sick

because life's too short

it's true i'm feeling a little sick .... sick and tired of work, that is!

I had about 3 or 4 years of not having paid sick leave, so I treat myself to a day every month or two.

at my job I don't have to call anyone, simply email my manager. no questions asked, no doctor's note. I did it on Monday and lay in bed reading until about 4 in the afternoon. bliss

yeah i just have to text pretty much.

my boss left early today because she is not feeling great herself so as she was leaving i was like "yeah i'm fighting off something too.. not sure about tomorrow!" lol

same deal here jim, it's an immense privilege

i would rarely do this but times when i was feeling very bad about my job in the past couple years i figured it was owed to me and justified it as "how do you define sick anyway"

I just did this for the rest of the afternoon because I have a sore throat and I’m tired and fuck it

did this for the afternoon today, "stomach troubles" though really it's "the air is an atomized plastic bag and it makes me feel profoundly terrible."

I have a splitting headache, I’m nauseous, my body is sending me all these shut down signals, jackhammering going on at neighbors driveway, just a splendid shit sandwich we got going here

and that's what sick days are for 🎶

because i just couldn't deal with the tortuous 3:00 pm meeting today
