Reading out some of these WhatsApp messages in the next Labour meeting, as a treat

I've decided to be the man on the inside for my pals

ogmor, Sunday, 12 April 2020 21:16 (four years ago) link

good luck whatever you guys do. it's always easier to say fuck every last one of these cowardly melts and fuck the PLP.

Tories that have the lack of moral integrity but at least the political conviction to actually join the Conservative Party>>>>>>Kier Starmer or every last melt in the PLP who have worked so hard to keep the Tories in power - fuck these people forever.

My guy.

gyac, Sunday, 12 April 2020 21:20 (four years ago) link

Hahaha fucking hell

Yes, Ben, seems right to me. Always felt like the Party machine opposed my pro-public NHS & social care policies between 2010 & 2015. Not sure I had even-handed treatment from them in either the 2010 or 2015 leadership elections. https://t.co/TnURFisaah

— Andy Burnham (@AndyBurnhamGM) April 12, 2020

You’d almost forget he was the brief favourite in 2015.

gyac, Sunday, 12 April 2020 21:21 (four years ago) link

I think even in just cold electoral terms the party is deeply fucked and Starmer doesn't have the clarity to see what he needs to do or the strength to go through with it, but I think it will be an Interesting Experience

ogmor, Sunday, 12 April 2020 21:22 (four years ago) link

Actually Andy Burnham....otm? Throughout that thread?

This is the thing that has always been my undoing: I’m a loyal Labour man. If I’d rebelled & spoken out more, life would probably have worked out differently.

— Andy Burnham (@AndyBurnhamGM) April 12, 2020

gyac, Sunday, 12 April 2020 21:23 (four years ago) link

He's had a good year or two. Still feel Burnham might make another push for leader when it seems like a better job than mayor i.e. 8+ years

ogmor, Sunday, 12 April 2020 21:24 (four years ago) link

He seems p popular round here

ogmor, Sunday, 12 April 2020 21:25 (four years ago) link

Btw if I was Starmer (as regular readers of this thread will know i am recently ousted vampire John Rentoul MR Seumas Milne) id be looking at this and planning a clearout. If the wreckers went after Burnham and Corbyn, he’s on borrowed time too.

gyac, Sunday, 12 April 2020 21:26 (four years ago) link

And Ed Miliband - who convinced KS to stand fit Holborn and St Pancras in the first place!

santa clause four (suzy), Sunday, 12 April 2020 21:27 (four years ago) link

Given how egregious the comments are and how well proper disciplinaries/a purge will play with demographics who do not trust starmer and may not even vote labour again it seems a no brainer... but who knows

ogmor, Sunday, 12 April 2020 21:29 (four years ago) link

I regret to inform you the centrist music journalists are at it again. I've had to unfollow one of our ILX colleagues because his feed is full of the cunts crowing away

I am really very happy with the heavy Twitter pruning I did after the election, have not seen any of that.

Yeah I meant EdMili, no idea why I typed Corbyn. I blame the left.

god he was such a condescending slimeball cunt on here.. really feel pity for any of his irl ilxer pals!

calzino, Sunday, 12 April 2020 22:05 (four years ago) link

actually it's not that one. afaik the music journalists never posted to ilx, but the ilx poster isn't a music journalist, just someone who likes to collect them as FB friends

they are crowing about the antisemitism investigation

Colonel Poo, Sunday, 12 April 2020 22:05 (four years ago) link

But...why? The report shows a lot of the complaints were vexatious, and although there were tons of legitimate complaints, they were backed up by wads of evidence that the complaints were soft-pedalled for factional reasons. Anyone who cares about antisemitism should find this report to be a fucking outrage.

gyac, Sunday, 12 April 2020 22:08 (four years ago) link

"just someone who likes to collect them as FB friends"

oh well at least they aren't keeping bits of them in their freezer!

calzino, Sunday, 12 April 2020 22:09 (four years ago) link

also i think calz is wrong, it never played out like that on here. probably silenced by big old uk pol meanies

où sont les threads d'antan? (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 12 April 2020 22:09 (four years ago) link

Why are these guys obsessed with pointing out their own flaws in others?

Of course you can wonder and some of those people behaved appallingly but Corbyn is a vain and blinkered man who would always rather blame others than be honest about his own mistakes and weaknesses, hence my original tweet.

godawful punctuation there. anyway, for balance, we need some posters who think Thatcher improved the country

There was such political violence on here. Even Soso and the little blackberry would have been disgusted at such savagery!

calzino, Sunday, 12 April 2020 22:13 (four years ago) link

it's OK that they were vexatious, because the entire left of the Labour party is actually definitely antisemitic, all of them, so even if the actual allegations were false, they were also true. or something, it was pretty bizarro land (no offence to big BG), then I thought fuck this and clicked Unfollow X

oh the other one was the report is just a smokescreen to try and cover for Crybon's extremism which is why Labour's lawyers have suppressed it, because it's all lies anyway, none of this happened, and if it did happen it's OK because all lefties are basically nazis

Colonel Poo, Sunday, 12 April 2020 22:24 (four years ago) link

So @AndyBurnhamGM was too left wing for the @UKLabour Party machine. Machine was so patronising and arrogant. Ultimately despised the Labour Party members. Terrible. https://t.co/VvHAMjfSLf
