DIdn't get all of them but one 1DS today is on the quite easy side and therefore difficult to money.

Yesterday I somehow beat someone who, I presume, is a Canadian in the CanCon ML.

Wow

yesterday definitely feels like one of those days you could beat a canadian (french music question is gonna throw a lot of anglos, baseball isn't big for many cdns, the comic/movie/tv questions were in american pop culture enough iirc? i mean an oscar + ran in everyone's papers for 30 years + snl).

there have definitely been some match days where i was like "you would have to really specifically be into canadian stuff to get these, eh?" like a (relatively) deep cut Hip song, roch carrier, is terry fox known in the us?, anything we learned from seeing the same heritage minutes 100 times in our youth, etc

I beat a Canadian, too! Each of us got the three easiest questions right (Q1, Q3, Q6), but he whiffed on Triplets of Belleville, which I knew.

(Less than) One hour before 1DS submission bump.

Argh. Unforced error robbed me of my 2nd place behind all the tied for first finishers, I think.

Feel better now that I see a certain RS writer (at the mag, but not the initials, his friend) got all twelve and only finished two places ahead of me.

definitely helped by the amount of cancon trivia i have written for my own quiz over the years, and definitely helped by living in the french zone of canada, which at least gave me a chance on those questions (scored nearly 100 points on a money i thought was fairly easy considering how much my friends who have grown up here have talked about it in the past)

My ego has taken a real bruising as I've gone 0-3 on Math questions this season. On the plus side, I'm still mid-table, even though there's 1 point separating me from the relegation zone (not factoring in tiebreakers).

Now that I think of it, the first time I saw The General was at Silby's alma mater.

I've had some awful moneying this 1DS season -- off the top of my head, I've played at least 2 where I ended < 50%ile but could've finished as high as the 80th.

Yesterday was big beer day.

Not for me! (I missed thiamine.) In fact, I haven't scored a single 6/6 all season. If that holds, it would be the first season since LL63 in 2014 in which I didn't get at least one. Luckily, I've had plenty of 5/6 days and am in the middle of the pack as usual.

Well, my prediction is proving true, as I'm on a 6 game losing streak where half of the losses have been avoidable.
