In Part 1, Frodo and Sam are walking in the woods in northern Middle Earth. Frodo stops after they come to a small clearing and asks the ghost of Aragorn what happened in the past. He is suddenly grabbed by Gollum and thrown through the air by the giant; he lands in an enormous pile of leaves. Frodo finds himself in Shadow of the Sun and sees a black horse on its back riding through a hedge. It is revealed that the horse is actually Gollum. After a conversation with Gollum and the ghost of Aragorn, Frodo is told that he and Sam are on their way to the Lonely Mountain. Frodo follows them to the Lonely Mountain where he finds himself in another small forest. He and Sam are in shadow and the horse is nowhere to be seen. He and his companions are lost until he discovers that the saddle that he was carrying is missing. Frodo finds the saddle and runs to the source of the sunlight. The horse lands on top of a tree and begins to gallop away as Frodo sees that Gollum's shadow is creeping over the horse and that the horse is getting closer to the forest. When Gollum and the horse see them, they take off running back to Nazgûl, the place where Aragorn once died. Aragorn soon arrives and finds the other two

The horse lands on top of a tree and begins to gallop away as Frodo sees that Gollum's shadow is creeping over the horse and that the horse is getting closer to the forest. When Gollum and the horse see them, they take off running back to Nazgûl, the place where Aragorn once died. Aragorn soon arrives and finds the other two hobbits, including Micky—who may be the heir to the Ring. It is not long before they learn that Elrond has come up with an idea to use a magic carpet to hide Gandalf from the evil goblins, who have been attacking the Misty Mountains for a number of years. Although Elrond was worried that the evil goblins would kill all the hobbits if that were to happen, they did not seem to be overly worried as their attack at the fortress was so sudden and swift. After learning that Gollum has also learned of the plot, Aragorn decides not to help them—or, at least, to not go into battle with Gollum, but rather to allow him to ride up.

I may have to mention this approach on the next podcast episode.

Gollum, who must be careful, makes his way up to an area off the map that looks the same as what Micky had described to the dwarves. Once there, he sees Frodo, and quickly runs up to him with two of the men holding a lantern with a piece of wood in it. As the man pulls the lantern off of Frodo with both hands he shouts, "Don't kill anyone!" With two of the men coming out to help, the man with the wood starts to shout, "What are you saying to the dwarves?"

When the light bulb goes off, Mordor's citizens are shouting out the word "mend", and after everyone stops, Gimli says, "Come on, Frodo, let's go." With the men holding a lantern in their hands, Frodo and the dwarves walk down the hillside. When they reach it, Frodo says, "It's going down, Mordor!" and when he sees it, he grabs the lantern and runs off, telling his friends to wait to see who will take the lantern. At home, Gandalf and Pippin are eating dinner and thinking of the next adventure to see.

The next day, the dwarves have discovered a stone wall (this wall had been created on the surface, and was covered with stone blocks), and immediately start digging inside. The men
