possibly the saddest moment of this sad man's sad life came in 1990 when he was interviewed by none other than me, for a piece in wire magazine on the (then-still newsworthy) interraction between house and dance music fashioned from samples, and jazz and other experiments
he only gets a short paragraph and one quote* in the piece, which is mainly pointing to the some of the nu-groove titles he'd engineered or played piano on: one by VANDAL (which was vanessa daou, his then-wife) plus (from memory) bobby konders' "the poet" and maybe one or two others
i suspect he took a very bad conceptual direction with the erica jong project (tho i haven't played it to prove this to myself) but these 1990s cuts are good not bad IMO, in a minor footnote-y way
*but i'm fairly sure i have a whole tape of interview with him in a box somewhere
