Fact: according to double top-secret web analytics I saw for epa.g0v today, the number two referrer to EPA's website in the past 3 months was www.dhmo.org, and it's been in the top 5 for the past year.

Ok I don’t see the “something sharp” post as being specifically directed at anyone… though I am assuming zach and ivy were the targets of the “shitbags” post which is … ugh, gross, no.

And even though I disagree with xyzzz on some things, I think it’s rude to say he isn’t a valuable poster, or at least as valuable a poster as unperson.

It is clearly aimed at someone because the whole point of this thread is to passive agressively post what you'd actually like to post somewhere else but worry would be too incindiary (this thread is not a good idea). I have no idea who that someone is but frankly the image is gross no matter what.

That wasn’t the initial point of this thread ffs! It makes me annoyed that it has come to be perceived this way.

Initially it was like, things you wanted to post but by the time you were in posting mode, the discussion had shifted such that your post would have been a derail or not constructive. Or just random things that were derails in general. And the concept was that it had the same structure as a normal discussion thread, but it wasn’t a discussion, so it is just this absurd text.

And it was started at a point in ilx where bmcquern and I had people annoyed at us for derailing threads, so this is where we would post instead.

Ok fair, I don't think I was paying too much attention to ILX when it was first created...it is what it's now used for tho, almost exclusively afaict, and yeah I don't think that's good.
