I missed it, only just finished work. A predictable result though.

xpost Dom OTM, I imagine

Totally out of Calzaghe's league. Calzaghe won so easy. Too old at 35 eh? He kicked your ass.

Now it's all fights in America I reckon. He destroyed the 2 great american hopes EASY. Manfredo wasn't fit to lick his boots.
Let's hope Joe gets the credit and big fights he deserves now before he actually does get too old.

Manfredo wasn't fighting back and was out of his league. Joe would've knocked him out if it had continued.

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy, Saturday, 7 April 2007 21:58 (nineteen years ago)

Calzaghe vs Jermaine Taylor next, then.

Dom Passantino, Saturday, 7 April 2007 22:00 (nineteen years ago)

Also Manfredo looks and talks like he's just walked out of a 30s gangster flick.

Dom Passantino, Saturday, 7 April 2007 22:01 (nineteen years ago)

"When are the Americans going to get it: Joe Calzaghe can actually fight"

Dom Passantino, Saturday, 7 April 2007 22:04 (nineteen years ago)

Manfredo = waaaaaaay too nice a guy

Porkpie, Saturday, 7 April 2007 22:05 (nineteen years ago)

Is Amir Khan due a step up in quality? I note another easy win this evening

Matt, Saturday, 7 April 2007 22:07 (nineteen years ago)

Enzo "Gaz Top Lookalike" Maccrenelli fight being shown to fill up time.

Dom Passantino, Saturday, 7 April 2007 22:09 (nineteen years ago)

OMG I MISSED THIS :\

Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved, Saturday, 7 April 2007 22:16 (nineteen years ago)

I don't think Manfredo with 3 losses out of 26 fights and no punching power to speak of counted as a great American hope. It was a 3 round sparring match with Manfredo getting sacked for not even trying.

Calzaghe's demolition of Lacy got him much well deserved credit and was probably enough to make anyone else think twice about taking him on, that's why he ended up slapping a game show winner about tonight.

Khan's really starting to look powerful. I know they're supposed to be eased along and all that but surely it's time he stepped up a class. Mike Tyson was battering Berbick for fun at that age.

onimo, Saturday, 7 April 2007 22:25 (nineteen years ago)

Khan really needs to fight Jonathan Thaxton ASAP, at least get something around his waist. Although god knows what the money fight is supposed to be for him in the lightweight division. A moved down Cotto?

Dom Passantino, Saturday, 7 April 2007 22:33 (nineteen years ago)

ITV using "Party Hard" to soundtrack the fight's, ahem, "highlights".

Dom Passantino, Saturday, 7 April 2007 22:40 (nineteen years ago)

johnny crunch, Sunday, 20 May 2007 02:38 (nineteen years ago)

The de la hoya fight had it's own thread.

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy, Sunday, 20 May 2007 02:59 (nineteen years ago)

omg pavlik smackdown

Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved, Sunday, 20 May 2007 03:05 (nineteen years ago)

Pavlik winning was kinda surprising.

Spinks/Taylor is going to suck and Taylor is going to win. You can pretty much change the channel already.

CALZAGHE/KESSLER

Dom Passantino, Friday, 2 November 2007 09:53 (eighteen years ago)

Major fights with no Americans in = the new hotness

Dom Passantino, Friday, 2 November 2007 09:53 (eighteen years ago)

because that's a new thing

remy bean, Friday, 2 November 2007 15:18 (eighteen years ago)

Enzo fight on now. Calzaghe fight must be a late one.

pfunkboy, Saturday, 3 November 2007 23:59 (eighteen years ago)

ahh f--- this is on regular HBO isn't it. You used to be able to order HBO for one night and pay a prorated amount (like, fifty cents) and cancel it the next day.

wanko ergo sum, Sunday, 4 November 2007 00:05 (eighteen years ago)

I'm just thankful we get Setanta now. This should be a cracking fight.

pfunkboy, Sunday, 4 November 2007 00:07 (eighteen years ago)

We pay enough for Sky as it is so, regretfully, fuck Setanta.

Noodle Vague, Sunday, 4 November 2007 00:09 (eighteen years ago)

We got setanta free this year from virginmedia to make up for them losing sky news/sky one etc.
Enzo just won his fight in 4 rounds.
Calzaghe fight starts 1.30am apparently. Listening to it on radio, Jim?

pfunkboy, Sunday, 4 November 2007 00:18 (eighteen years ago)

I might stick it on unless I've gone to bed, yeah.

Noodle Vague, Sunday, 4 November 2007 00:26 (eighteen years ago)

Come on aim and i'll give you commentary!

pfunkboy, Sunday, 4 November 2007 00:28 (eighteen years ago)

happy its gonna be only 930ish here on US east coast
think kessler is gonna win

johnny crunch, Sunday, 4 November 2007 00:28 (eighteen years ago)

k lol I can't find my aim link hang on a sec.

I think Calzaghe will be too smart for him.

Noodle Vague, Sunday, 4 November 2007 00:30 (eighteen years ago)

Not long now.

pfunkboy, Sunday, 4 November 2007 01:18 (eighteen years ago)

I really should be in bed....but seeing as I've been drifting off on the sofa all day......

Porkpie, Sunday, 4 November 2007 01:27 (eighteen years ago)

I had a nap earlier so I wouldn't miss this.
And here we go..

pfunkboy, Sunday, 4 November 2007 01:32 (eighteen years ago)

Ha, I have to feed the boy in a bit, a perfect excuse

Matt, Sunday, 4 November 2007 01:33 (eighteen years ago)

i really don't want to see that good luck chuck advert ever again.

Porkpie, Sunday, 4 November 2007 01:35 (eighteen years ago)

I would watch Dane Cook in a snuff movie maybe

Noodle Vague, Sunday, 4 November 2007 01:37 (eighteen years ago)

calzaghe = way too cocky here

Porkpie, Sunday, 4 November 2007 01:38 (eighteen years ago)

hes gonna have to have his best fight ever if he's gonna beat this guy, kessler is very good.

pfunkboy, Sunday, 4 November 2007 01:46 (eighteen years ago)

if he keeps leading with his head down like that, Kessler's going to floor him with a big shot

Porkpie, Sunday, 4 November 2007 01:48 (eighteen years ago)

im pretty sure kessler wont get knocked out or stopped, so maybe the age difference will count at the later stages.

pfunkboy, Sunday, 4 November 2007 01:51 (eighteen years ago)

I'm only listening on 5 Live but it seems to be turning into a chess match. Which suits Calzaghe, I guess.

Noodle Vague, Sunday, 4 November 2007 01:54 (eighteen years ago)

Joe's way ahead on points but Kessler can catch him with big punches and he's gotta knock joe out. Kessler can punch so hard so joe gotta not get caught.

pfunkboy, Sunday, 4 November 2007 02:15 (eighteen years ago)

MY GOD

Noodle Vague, Sunday, 4 November 2007 02:19 (eighteen years ago)

I reckon Joe has won by 3.
