surfboard dudes get wiped out, totally, Monday, 21 September 2009 22:11 (sixteen years ago)

Thought this was great as usual, seems to be carrying on from the last series in terms of being slightly darker, the Jeff/Bam Bam scene was hilarious but I was genuinely shocked as well

Roger Sánchez Broto (vain_bowers), Tuesday, 22 September 2009 09:55 (sixteen years ago)

Yeah I thought it was pretty strong. The flirting scene between Jeff & Bam Bam at dinner was great. Also appreciated Catherine O'Hara's raspy Funkhouser voice.

WARS OF ARMAGEDDON (Karaoke Version) (Sparkle Motion), Tuesday, 22 September 2009 15:58 (sixteen years ago)

This season is killing it so far. Two vintage eps in a row.

chap, Monday, 28 September 2009 13:01 (sixteen years ago)

yep

Andrew "Nice" Clay (Pillbox), Monday, 28 September 2009 14:28 (sixteen years ago)

Leon going back to his room to eat his sandwich was classic. I hope Cheryl moves back in & we can have Larry/Cheryl/Leon fireworks for the rest of the season.

Andrew "Nice" Clay (Pillbox), Monday, 28 September 2009 14:30 (sixteen years ago)

i completely missed like two years of this somehow, I had to go back and rewatch the last four episodes of last season to figure out who these people were. I still haven't found out why Cheryl left him (although I suppose any assumption one makes about this probably works fine).

akm, Monday, 28 September 2009 16:34 (sixteen years ago)

You are combined in this shit now with me, goddammit. We are Lego! We are like a fucking Lego-set right now, we are fucking interlocked together. We fucked her!

Øystein, Monday, 28 September 2009 18:36 (sixteen years ago)

the first Seinfeld reunion episode was good. not great, not bad,but good.

Zeno, Monday, 5 October 2009 18:32 (sixteen years ago)

Yeah, not as good as the first two episodes. I might've enjoyed it more if I'd ever got into Seinfeld.

chap, Monday, 5 October 2009 18:53 (sixteen years ago)

It's definitely getting darker - witness Larry having a joyful fantasy about that guy being dead!

chap, Monday, 5 October 2009 18:54 (sixteen years ago)

Frankly the first two episodes were really bar-setters though, so I'm not complaining.

chap, Monday, 5 October 2009 19:01 (sixteen years ago)

two weeks pass...

Back on form this week. Wendy Wheelchair was well foxy.

His skin is eroding. His suckers have divots. (chap), Monday, 19 October 2009 20:38 (sixteen years ago)

Life-handles?

Spencer Chow, Wednesday, 28 October 2009 23:04 (sixteen years ago)

The episode with the swan was so classic.

Space Battle Rothko (Matt DC), Monday, 2 November 2009 22:25 (sixteen years ago)

I love this show! "Well then why'd you take the balls home?"

Sunny River, Tuesday, 3 November 2009 22:35 (sixteen years ago)

"So, I'm being hoisted on my own petard?"

WARS OF ARMAGEDDON (Karaoke Version) (Sparkle Motion), Tuesday, 3 November 2009 23:31 (sixteen years ago)

Did 'Curb' and HBO Cross the Line?

I seem to remember him mocking aspects of judasism and islam in other episodes but let's not get the facts get in the way of a poll.

Ned Trifle (Notinmyname), Sunday, 8 November 2009 10:47 (sixteen years ago)

the episode where he becomes a car salesman (second season) is the funniest shit ever recorded

NEW YORK DESERVED 9-11 (cankles), Tuesday, 10 November 2009 19:11 (sixteen years ago)

Last episode I thought was the first not so hilarious one of the season. Got a bit bogged down in the audition bit. Still funny though, just not as funny.

PC Thug (Ned Trifle II), Tuesday, 10 November 2009 19:47 (sixteen years ago)

I Danny Dubersteined the shit out of him!

whiney on the moon (hmmmm), Monday, 16 November 2009 08:30 (sixteen years ago)

leon made me fucking cry

whiney on the moon (hmmmm), Monday, 16 November 2009 08:31 (sixteen years ago)

I thought the golf ep was a bit shit but women's panties one was XD

wilter, Monday, 16 November 2009 08:42 (sixteen years ago)

Yeah, that plot was great but I still think the auditions wents on too long.

"It's a comfort thing don't add a transvestite level to this."

PC Thug (Ned Trifle II), Monday, 16 November 2009 09:09 (sixteen years ago)

I often wonder if Larry and Jeff are irl bros

wilter, Monday, 16 November 2009 09:45 (sixteen years ago)

I agree that the panties one was great.

bear say hi to me (ENBB), Monday, 16 November 2009 11:32 (sixteen years ago)

I would happily watch a three-hour movie of Leon chatting shit.

I am flesh and blood. You are software and circuitry. (chap), Monday, 16 November 2009 15:21 (sixteen years ago)

This was like the most self-referential episode ever. The Leon vs Michael Richards face-off was amazing though.

Space Battle Rothko (Matt DC), Tuesday, 17 November 2009 00:09 (sixteen years ago)

yeah there were a lot of great little hints in this, loved when kramer showed up with the hooker and leon not knowing anything about the show: "now who's is THIS fat little dude??"

sonderangerbot, Tuesday, 17 November 2009 00:14 (sixteen years ago)

marty funkhauser - 'would you please finish shoveling that shit into your face'

I am a galactic activation portal...enter me (nickalicious), Tuesday, 17 November 2009 01:22 (sixteen years ago)

Jerry Seinfeld is great in these. "I had no idea it was going to be so revolting"

WARS OF ARMAGEDDON (Karaoke Version) (Sparkle Motion), Tuesday, 17 November 2009 05:50 (sixteen years ago)

Danny Duberstein is good at two things:

whiney on the moon (hmmmm), Tuesday, 17 November 2009 08:34 (sixteen years ago)

The interludes of larry and jerry bantering are delightful. They're even funnier than jerry's coffee shop conversations with george because larry is so much crazier that jerry gets to do what he's best at: scornful sarcasm. It's too bad there's really not that many episodes featuring seinfeld (only 2 more?).

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 17 November 2009 11:10 (sixteen years ago)

It's funny because Jerry is almost as much of a childish prick as Larry.

Space Battle Rothko (Matt DC), Tuesday, 17 November 2009 11:13 (sixteen years ago)

xp - only one more I think. 10 episodes a season?

Jerry seems to me only to get childish (distracted) when Larry is around. When Larry is trying to get him to kick Funkhouser kicked off set he's being quite reasonable "we have a policy?"

Ned Trifle II, Tuesday, 17 November 2009 11:18 (sixteen years ago)

I'm a little disappointed that Funkhauser is going to go through an entire series without a close relative dying.

Space Battle Rothko (Matt DC), Tuesday, 17 November 2009 11:19 (sixteen years ago)

There's still time.

Ned Trifle II, Tuesday, 17 November 2009 11:19 (sixteen years ago)

Ha, how did I never know about this?

larry should've done his dizzle on her

NEW YORK DESERVED 9-11 (cankles), Wednesday, 18 November 2009 18:17 (sixteen years ago)

My daughter made me watch that! "Isn't that that man you like?" It's not a bad cameo (with it's in-joke that must have gone flying about a thousand miles over the audience). That's his real children, trivia fans.

Ned Trifle II, Wednesday, 18 November 2009 20:17 (sixteen years ago)

It's funny because Jerry is almost as much of a childish prick as Larry.

yeah, it's like seinfeld is one of the few people who actually sees the world like larry does. funniest part for me in the last episode was when leon goes "SO WHO ARE THESE TWO PEOPLE?" eating from a plate of grapes.

la monte jung (cutty), Friday, 20 November 2009 16:36 (sixteen years ago)

Best Seinfeld line in this series - "trust your gut".

Space Battle Rothko (Matt DC), Friday, 20 November 2009 16:38 (sixteen years ago)

I guess the joke is that Larry and Jerry are like twins (the banter in the restaurant: Jerry is left-handed, Larry is right-handed)! To me the running gag through Curb has been how the hell has Larry ever worked in comedy or with other people in anything? Even if he's funny sometimes. So in making Seinfeld he found someone like himself.

Watch this on-and-off but the way the eps are put together has really changed, huh? Far more interested in linking different scenes with assertions made five minutes before. Don't when that started.

xyzzzz__, Saturday, 21 November 2009 12:01 (sixteen years ago)

Yeah I noticed that two - it's a lot slicker and seemingly more structured and scripted now. I don't see many scenes that feel semi-improvised - I watched an old one recently and there was one scene with Larry and Jeff in the restaurant and you can tell that Larry has just come out with something so funny, totally out of the blue, that's made the real Jeff absolutely crack up.

I guess it changed around series four? Around the time the focus of the series changed from Larry being held hostage to things totally out of his control, to Larry being a dick and bringing things on himself. Like the Wendy Wheelchair episode this series. Overall I prefer the former type.

Space Battle Rothko (Matt DC), Saturday, 21 November 2009 12:31 (sixteen years ago)

absolutely loving this series, some of the plotlines are a bit contrived but it's forgivable when the jokes are so damn good. has there been much written about the whole kramer/leon thing? amazing moment when he opened the door to see leon wearing a bow tie

NI, Saturday, 21 November 2009 16:24 (sixteen years ago)

the best part of the "reunion" is that you get to see jokes that may have been used in a reunion show, but also you get to see the actor's having fun with it. it's more playful. it's really pretty unique.

la monte jung (cutty), Saturday, 21 November 2009 17:56 (sixteen years ago)

don't see many scenes that feel semi-improvised

Only just saw this - some kind of HBO special about the series - which seems to suggest it's still pretty improvised, but you're right it still seems less so than before - but maybe they've just got better at it?

Ned Trifle II, Sunday, 22 November 2009 21:52 (sixteen years ago)

i think this is the best season since s2
