recently on ILX Dreams...

I chased grimly down the street and he told me to leave him alone. I said "first you must tell me... When are you? Where are you? What are you doing and why? When are you? Where are you? What are you doing and why? When are you? Where are you? What are you doing and why?"

He replied "It's Monday at 6pm I'm walking down Buchanan Street, going home because my work is done." To which I said "Ah, but don't you see at least 1 in 20 say that and still carry bottled water? You are One In Control!"

He laughed and disappeared into the St Enoch underground station.

The movie included accompaniment by an all-celebrity orchestra, and at one point I was watching Elvis train Cindy Crawford on the cello.

The visuals of the film included animations that were based on Frosted Flakes box (with Tony the Tiger, bright blue background, etc.) and text that would say things like, "America, The Good Guys!"

Later in the dream I complained to my friend that the film was "so OBVIOUS" and that Jim Jarmusch had already made practically the same film. I then suggested that Jarmusch should sue Elvis, which somehow in the dream was supposed to be a funny suggestion.

Hey I had a weird ILXor dream about Stelf0xx the other night! He was driving a strange little minivan that had "Adolf Hitler" painted on the side in funky 50s-car signage. I was all OMG at meeting him as if he was a popstar. Weird. I dont even know him let alone what he looks like.

It made no sense then, and it's nice to see it makes no sense now.

dream-me is a lucky fucker. i don't usually finish till 9pm on a monday.

so the rest of us went all vigilante on the evil cop (i forget what happened here but we didn't kill him). after that, we dispersed, and i ended up taking a greyhound bus home. hstencil was on the bus.

there was more to the dream, but the other parts are sans ilxors.

"Well I never. All right then - who is she?"

Then Suzy produced a folio of FAP-type photos, pointed to the ILxor in question and smiled at me "It's her. Are you surprised?"

It was like the end of Poirot. Always the one you least suspect.

"Good God, I would have thought that she'd be the last person who'd feel that way about me!"

"Come on MC, you two were made for each other, admit it!"

Dream ended at that point, but obviously I'm not going to say who it was or do anything about it in real life because, firstly, it was clearly a Freudian projection of a hitherto unrealised crush. Also I have no idea whether the ILxor in question is spoken for in real life, and I think it would be a very dangerous path to pursue (it's not an obvious ILxor by any means; certainly not one who posts very often or very prominently, but it kind of shocked me).

I need to get out more.

I offered to come up to London again, to go to a club (not one of the ilXOr clubs like FATS, Seal or Popular/FT though) but Martin Skidmore was insistent that London would come to Bristol instead. In the end there was about twenty of us*, and decided to go to Espionage at the Thekla. While waiting in the queue some local kids started lobbing clods of earth at us from the roof of the restaurant next door - Matt DC decided to lob one back and cracked the window of the restaurant. The bouncers then ushered us in and had us wait in the cloakroom** until the police turned up (though strangely they let us buy drinks in the meantime). They took statements but didn't pursue it because it was too much effort and we danced the night away. I snogged one of our party*** just before I woke up.

*Not just London people

** The cloakroom was not that of the Thekla (which I'm not even sure has one), but of a very large theatre.

***I have had two, much ruder, dreams about this person recently which is why I have kept them anonymous. I am beginning to find it disconcerting.

(it was a non-rude dream, but I can't remember much else about it)

I think the Shimura Curves song playing in the dream was Elephants.

Last night Kate stole my old band and kicked out Gary and I. SHE MADE THEM MUCH BETTER and they were quite successful. I had to make polite noises about how Doug and Alexis deserved it, though I was really twisted and bitter about it really.

Damn, I hope you realise that my real self would turn and face you unlike my dream self - I'm sure occult forces were at work in the dream situation to make me so rude!

With really scary dreams like that, I find it helps to analyse them, break them down, and then find a way to laugh at the stress behind it. It strips the dreamfear of its power.
