it's really sad that i hate this now.
― Dy, Tuesday, 26 June 2007 01:01 (eighteen years ago)
I've finished watching all three series over the past couple of weeks. Marathon! I understand the flaws, but I still love, love, love it. And Logan - swoon! My kind of bo-hunk. Veronica's sarcasm did get a bit too bitchy towards the end, though. But I've perfected the braid from one side of the head to the other hairstyle that she'd been rocking.
― marianna lcl, Tuesday, 26 June 2007 10:55 (eighteen years ago)
Maybe my expectations were too high, so I need to get into it more, but I definitely do NOT regret having ordered this. We're watching two eps an evening (and have to resist watching more). Also, (to self) do NOT read too much of this thread. :-)
― nathalie, Tuesday, 3 July 2007 12:09 (eighteen years ago)
UK folks, series one is repeated on Living TV: weeknights at 2am, from Thursday the 19th of July onwards.
― marianna lcl, Tuesday, 3 July 2007 15:01 (eighteen years ago)
Veronica is the final Cylon.
― Leee, Tuesday, 3 July 2007 18:15 (eighteen years ago)
Ha man okay this is the second time in my life I feel weird for pointing this out, but:
bo-hunk = old American ethnic slur for eastern Europeans!
beau or hunk = better suited!
― nabisco, Tuesday, 3 July 2007 18:20 (eighteen years ago)
Actually the proper term for Logan is Scientologo-hunk.
― Alex in Baltimore, Tuesday, 3 July 2007 18:27 (eighteen years ago)
jason BORING
jason GOERING
jason D'OH RINGWORM
jason MORON
― RJG, Tuesday, 3 July 2007 18:43 (eighteen years ago)
was just talking about "bo-hunk", the other day
― RJG, Tuesday, 3 July 2007 18:44 (eighteen years ago)
I watched the last four eps of season 1. I feel like a giddy teeenager now. Not completely, but the LoVe (hah!) romance really pushed the 15 year old teen button in me. I think this is what appeals to me so much, the fact they push several age buttons (for me anyway).
I checked and it's impossible to import season 3 boxset from amazon.co.uk. :-( How oh how will I survive after watching S2. I don't really care whether S2 is up to scratch, I am already more than happy with S1's brilliance.
― nathalie, Tuesday, 10 July 2007 08:20 (eighteen years ago)
I also feel ike a bit of a twit for posting on a thread that is about a cancelled show. :-(
― nathalie, Tuesday, 10 July 2007 08:23 (eighteen years ago)
I had a dream the other night that I got into a bit of a mix - someone was blackmailing me over old videos they were going to send to my boyfriend. And I remember distinctly saying "I need to get Veronica Mars's help!"
― marianna lcl, Friday, 20 July 2007 12:16 (eighteen years ago)
I dreamt I was swimming with Weevil. God, I'm going completely gaga over this show. That said, the S2 finale was... hmmm. I'm having withdrawel effects already. I solved this more or less by learning how to use BitTorrent and downloaded S3 (whichI will buy anyway once it's out in the US in October).
― nathalie, Friday, 20 July 2007 12:20 (eighteen years ago)
Nat, I'm genuinely pleased you love it.
― marianna lcl, Friday, 20 July 2007 12:26 (eighteen years ago)
S3 : (
― RJG, Friday, 20 July 2007 14:44 (eighteen years ago)
just starting disk 5 of season one (thanks jerry)
rofled at the eighties disco and the pretty in pink homage.
did read something the other week that seemed to pour scorn on anyone over the age of 25 watching veronica mars though. pah.
― koogs, Thursday, 26 July 2007 13:57 (eighteen years ago)
Probably a zitty 13 year old. Who cares? That's like saying a 50 year old can't enjoy Teen Pop. I mean, how do they explain Rob Thomas' talent with/enjoying this type of stuff?
I'm still bittorrenting (is that even a verb) S3. I managed to do it but the first two eps were fucked. So I have to start all over. And then register DVD creator. I had to up my transfer limit on my DSL account... twice. hah.
Can you tell I'm psyched?

No wonder 'Ronnie could solve all those crimes: she's a dirty mutie!
― Leee, Tuesday, 21 August 2007 19:27 (eighteen years ago)
So she's going to appear in Lost.

Urgh that Neptune Noir book is terrible, Nathalie!
― Stevie T, Friday, 24 August 2007 11:21 (eighteen years ago)
Oh shit. hahah First I mistype it and second of all I should have clicked that link.
Is it that bad? Oh crap. :-(
― nathalie, Friday, 24 August 2007 11:25 (eighteen years ago)
Oh, what could've been.
― Leee, Thursday, 22 November 2007 18:40 (eighteen years ago)
I dare not watch it because I fear I'll fall into a deep depression if I do. Damn I miss that show. :-(
― nathalie, Friday, 23 November 2007 08:23 (eighteen years ago)
No Keith, no Logan, no deal.
― marianna lcl, Friday, 23 November 2007 10:37 (eighteen years ago)
no Logan would have been the best thing they could do for the show
― milo z, Friday, 23 November 2007 16:27 (eighteen years ago)
I'd've been bummed about the lack of Keith in the show, although they could've plausibly kept him in the cast way more easily than Logan or any of VM's other high school/college classmates. I really wish they'd gotten the go-ahead to do that Season 4, even if it wouldn't have worked and been cancelled a year later, I really like the idea of a show like that just jumping ahead a few years in the chronology.
― Alex in Baltimore, Friday, 23 November 2007 16:44 (eighteen years ago)
Do we know that there wouldn't have been any Keith? He's not in that promo, but she's still in LA so we could see Keith, Wallace, Weevil without much trouble. Also, I guess, Logan, but it really would have been great to move on from that story line (though apparently she was just going to do the same dance with FBI Logan).
soon to be jumping ahead in the chronology: One Tree Hill!
― milo z, Friday, 23 November 2007 20:43 (eighteen years ago)
I want to mount Kristen Bell....she'd be tied up of course
― Bo Jackson Overdrive, Saturday, 24 November 2007 15:11 (eighteen years ago)
Waht, teh roofies sub-plot wasn't enuff for yoos?
― ian, Saturday, 24 November 2007 16:03 (eighteen years ago)
Never seen this -- worth renting the first season DVD?
-- Chuck_Tatum, Wednesday, 23 May 2007 19:10 (8 months ago) Link
No, because you will be so heartbroken and distraught that the subsequent seasons are sooooo awful in comparison to the utopian splendour of season 1 that the difference will cause you to wish you'd never seen the show and then kill yourself, or failing that, complain on a message board.
-- Leee, Wednesday, 23 May 2007 19:14 (8 months ago) Link
So I finally rented Season 1... Awesome fun. Dare I continue? Does the show really get that bad? Or are the internet-posters just being too... internet-poster-y about it?
― Chuck_Tatum, Sunday, 3 February 2008 01:04 (eighteen years ago)
Season 2 had its charms, but it seemed annoyingly jerky and tossed-off compared to the impeccably paced and plotted season 1. After watching it we had no desire to get season 3.
― Guayaquil (eephus!), Sunday, 3 February 2008 01:59 (eighteen years ago)
Total agreement.
The filmed pilot for season 4 was pretty good, though.
― polyphonic, Sunday, 3 February 2008 02:03 (eighteen years ago)
I actually thought season 2 was pretty great, albeit a little over-ambitious, but I'm afraid to see season 3.
― Simon H., Sunday, 3 February 2008 02:12 (eighteen years ago)
it's all good, go for it and don't be all 'OMG SHARK JUMP' about it
― Dimension 5ive, Sunday, 3 February 2008 02:20 (eighteen years ago)
Latter half of the third season an improvement on the second season, first half about the same as S2.
Neither is as good as the first, but still better than most TV.
― milo z, Sunday, 3 February 2008 02:33 (eighteen years ago)
We've been watching season 3 and it's really not as bad as people make it out to be. Definitely not as compelling as the first two, but still worth watching. And Dick suddenly becomes hilarious and awesome.
― lindseykai, Sunday, 3 February 2008 02:36 (eighteen years ago)
Season 2 drags a lot in the middle but easily redeems itself by the end, and the last few episodes of series 3 (after the long term story arcs are over) are still pretty great.
― limón, Sunday, 3 February 2008 03:32 (eighteen years ago)
I just watched all three seasons last month and yeah, season 3 was a real drag at the start, but started getting a bit better with the second mystery arc and then the last four or so episodes were pretty brilliant. I liked where they were going with it and wished that there had been a proper season 4 - the original outline of season 4, not the FBI one.
and yeah, I agree with everyone who says that while seasons 2 and 3 aren't great compared to season 1, it's still miles better than your average TV show.
― Roz, Sunday, 3 February 2008 03:51 (eighteen years ago)
OTfM. Except for the part about Dick being awesome; Dick was and will never be anything remotely approaching "awesome"
― Stevie D, Sunday, 3 February 2008 06:14 (eighteen years ago)
I think season 3 Dick is pretty funny as predictable but ultimately harmless asshole. Although emo Dick, like emo Logan, sucks.
― Roz, Sunday, 3 February 2008 06:28 (eighteen years ago)
I miss this show :(
― baaderonixx, Monday, 26 May 2008 10:22 (eighteen years ago)

Gah, I miss this show too. Maybe I'll go and DL all John Hughes films to make up for my loss. :-)
― Nathalie (stevienixed), Wednesday, 14 January 2009 08:40 (seventeen years ago)
can't read this thread because i'm only about halfway through s1 but yeah i love this shit
― congratulations (n/a), Monday, 4 May 2009 20:19 (seventeen years ago)
do yerself a favor and stop with season two, which is... full of wtf moments itself, but not nearly as bleak as the third season.
― ian, Monday, 4 May 2009 20:27 (seventeen years ago)
Yeah, season 2 was not as good, and season 3 was unwatchable for me.
― Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Monday, 4 May 2009 20:29 (seventeen years ago)
The second season finale kind of ruined this show for me, it was such an unbelievable Scooby Doo-style reveal.
