do YOU love achewood, too?

I read it as:

1) Roast Beef notices the Exit door while fixing the Karma Wheel,
2) finds Molly asleep in their old shed on the other side,
3) looks back at the duct that he broke out of,
4) decides not to return to life with Molly (yet),
5) ventures back to the tube to see what fate has in store.

I think the panel with the burning Escalade is just a cutaway to let us know that the boys are still trapped.

I think Roast Beef is certain that he'll live again - but he wants to know what's at the end of the Wheel.

well it is over now mostly, and i liked it, but i think i'll need at least a further closing strip so i can be sure what happened...

WHAT HAPPENED?! Did he read all the criticism and think 'oh hell let's just cut it short'?

maybe we'll have a return to kinder simpler strips like this one that i return to often simply because for some reason it is the only one i have bookmarked:

it does almost feel like a response to the criticism, or like he felt he just wanted to end a troublesome arc... in the previous strip, it certainly seemed as if beef had closed the door on molly, and returned to the big wheel (which i don't even understand).

at first I thought, "wait, what criticism?" and i remembered again that the comics actually have comment threads which i never see

i'm a little confused here. roast beef sort of kept going along with this whole death arc because he was depressed enough to believe that everyone else was better off without him. so the ending, where he ducks out of it and returns to his life, he feels regret because he didn't go through with it after all? does that sound accurate?

Can't wrap my head around that one either

you know what, ignore what i said, i went back and re-read the strips, and i'm even more confused

some good moments but no way is this building to a good resolution.

I don't think he even knew about that, pretty sure that was a cutaway for the reader's benefit. The whole time Roast Beef had been with CH and then inside the reincarnation/karma wheel-death "queue of Samsara".

(after drinking the vinegar and chopped paper, which HASTENED the lash of Thanatos, man this was a strange arc)

either way, readers are confused. a ball was dropped.

Was there a reason the whole erotic literature-off angle was just canned? I wanted to see the end of that, then all this craziness started happening.

There will be a new season of one-off comics when I return on Monday.

^feel like this is probably a good thing if I'm reading it right... I've not hated any given story arc but there are a ton of really context-free funny fuckers from like 04 or 05, it would be great to get a run like that on the go IMO

I prefer reading strips because they're funny, not because they're part of some tedious narrative.

Ok, the first part was a bit harsh, but honestly, there's a difference between checking back because you want to and checking back because you want to find out what happens.

so my parents came to visit a few weeks ago, stayed at this hotel with a nice restaurant upstairs. mom got the oatmeal one morning, liked it a lot, you know, no big whoop. anyways, because she's a huge weirdo/lonely housewife, once she returned home she had to go and send an email to the hotel raving about how good the freakin oatmeal was. she got a response from the sous chef of the restaurant and was proud enough (for some reason) to forward it to me:

I am so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us and that you enjoyed our oatmeal Brule. I have attached 2 recipes for you, a couple of notes once you pour the oatmeal in your bowl top it with a light coating of sugar and Brule it with a blow torch, then top it with the apricot compote, shaved apple and nuts. If you do not have a torch you can find them at Williams Sonoma. I know that the recipes make large batches you can cut them down to fit your needs, the apricots will last in the refrigerator for a month and make a great addition to cheeses or toast, just as a thought. If you have any questions about these recipes please feel free to contact me.
