Why is the second one doubly parenthetical?

JW (ex machina), Tuesday, 2 May 2006 16:28 (twenty years ago)

Because it's an afterthought to an afterthought.

Alone, Jealous and SSRI'd (kate), Tuesday, 2 May 2006 16:28 (twenty years ago)

Logically, shouldn't it be nested inside the first set of parens:

(Though as much as I go on about him, Boris is not an ILX0r. (Still, I'm glad to know))

JW (ex machina), Tuesday, 2 May 2006 16:33 (twenty years ago)

That's another valid way to do it, yes.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Tuesday, 2 May 2006 17:04 (twenty years ago)

You should have nutted him, The Pinefox.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller 68), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 06:06 (twenty years ago)

Post it on the Celebrity Sightings thread...there is one, somewhere in here.

I saw Dadaismus yesterday evening at Old Street. We got on the same bus.

Konal Doddz (blueski), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 08:36 (twenty years ago)

i seen ed this morning, walking down theobald's road with big headphones on. trying to wave hello i almost veered into the path of an oncoming taxi. oops.

emsk ( emsk), Friday, 5 May 2006 06:59 (twenty years ago)

I ran into Alex in NYC this weekend where Eighth Street and Greenwich Ave hit Sixth Avenue. He was talking on the cellphone pushing a baby carriage and wearing a Soft Boys t-shirt. I was dressed for Deep Cover on the Colorblind Dad tip. I called out "Alex!" and he said "Yeah? Do I KNOW you?" After I explained who I was he said "I was wondering who that jerk was who was trying to talk to me."

Redd Temple Player (Two Headed Dogg) (Ken L), Monday, 8 May 2006 16:09 (twenty years ago)

I would have felt slightly insulted, but then I was grateful that I got to meet him while he was in character.

Redd Temple Player (Two Headed Dogg) (Ken L), Monday, 8 May 2006 16:23 (twenty years ago)

oh yeah! it must have been sunday i think. i was entertaining the french. and i sighted emily last night but that was less random and impromptu as she was on stage with her band.

Crazy late, I know, but hello emsk! Sorry I was very dazed that night, totally all-consuming tiredness and attempting to get boozed AFTER playing, eesh.

emil.y (emil.y), Monday, 8 May 2006 22:48 (twenty years ago)

matt dc, in a suit, on high holborn, this lunchtime.

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Monday, 22 May 2006 14:25 (twenty years ago)

hott

Konal Doddz (blueski), Monday, 22 May 2006 14:27 (twenty years ago)

I saw an exact Anna lookalike on the NYC subway this morning; if she weren't just a bit taller, I'd have thought the real thing took a wrong turn on the way to Latvia.

nabisco (nabisco), Monday, 22 May 2006 16:09 (twenty years ago)

three weeks pass...
Noise Jon (with iPod) on East Houston Street. Claimed to be listening to Moroder; I suspect Oberst!

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 13:56 (nineteen years ago)

I was looking for this thread last week and couldn't find it!

Ran into Katie G on High Holborn on my way to work last week!

Sundogs at 22 Degrees (kate), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 13:59 (nineteen years ago)

oh alix last week on da bus.

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 14:04 (nineteen years ago)

Oh, and Marianna on the DLR, but that wasn't that random as we were both going to the same place.

Sundogs at 22 Degrees (kate), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 14:12 (nineteen years ago)

I saw Otto Midnight on the Red Line yesterday.

Safety First (pullapartgirl), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 15:25 (nineteen years ago)

and it looks like i'll be on the red line again today but a little later this time. picking up a young lovely in noble square before heading north.

otto midnight (otto midnight), Tuesday, 13 June 2006 15:27 (nineteen years ago)

No one ever Random Impromptu Sights me :-(

I am going to look out of the window all day.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller 68), Wednesday, 14 June 2006 06:35 (nineteen years ago)

I forgot to mention that Campbell'n'me impromptly bumped into Gravel Puzzleworth and Nicholas Passant on the way to see Neko Case the other week. We then impromptly bumped into Stewart Lee, who was sitting next to us in the hall.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Wednesday, 14 June 2006 08:20 (nineteen years ago)

I bumped into Woebot (on his bike) in Berwick Street on Saturday morning, both doing our weekly decimation of specialist record shop stocks, but he's not an ILxor so I don't suppose that counts.

I haven't seen an ILxor in person for months...when's the next FAP?

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Wednesday, 14 June 2006 08:40 (nineteen years ago)

Perhaps there will be a football one tomorrow.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller 68), Wednesday, 14 June 2006 08:47 (nineteen years ago)

is stewart lee an ilxor now? i have randomly spotted him at many improv etc gigs

Ward Fowler (Ward Fowler), Wednesday, 14 June 2006 08:54 (nineteen years ago)

SL's always at improv gigs, in his pretentious carpet slippers.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Wednesday, 14 June 2006 08:56 (nineteen years ago)

marianna, at archway, walking down holloway road, this morning,

charltonlido (gareth), Sunday, 25 June 2006 12:34 (nineteen years ago)

i was in a cab. yes, thats right, a cab

charltonlido (gareth), Sunday, 25 June 2006 12:35 (nineteen years ago)

I was impromptually spotted by a workmate the other day, on Endell Street. It will have to do, I suppose.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller 68), Sunday, 25 June 2006 17:51 (nineteen years ago)

I might have impromptually spotted Rumpie in Paisley last week. If she was at the midsummer fair at the town hall, with a bloke in a red t-shirt. And if she looks like the photos she's posted.

(if that was you, I'm sorry for being the lassie looking weirdly at you)

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 25 June 2006 20:54 (nineteen years ago)

Gareth, you should have shouted hello!

marianna lcl (marianna lcl), Tuesday, 27 June 2006 10:17 (nineteen years ago)

I saw an exact Anna lookalike on the NYC subway this morning; if she weren't just a bit taller, I'd have thought the real thing took a wrong turn on the way to Latvia.

A New York me!

Anna (Anna), Tuesday, 27 June 2006 10:23 (nineteen years ago)

i bumped into barima on denmark street on friday. he was also wearing a suit.

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Tuesday, 27 June 2006 11:14 (nineteen years ago)

I saw Ricky T again last night, swimming against the tide at Maidenhead station. I wonder if he got on the train that I had just got off, that was going the wrong way.

One thing about Ricky, he always appears to have about three times as much energy as me.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller 68), Wednesday, 28 June 2006 06:29 (nineteen years ago)

two weeks pass...
Did I see KenC by that funny little carpark beach bar off Brick Lane this afternoon? celebrity dude

uptoeleven (uptoeleven), Sunday, 16 July 2006 19:49 (nineteen years ago)

Andrew Farrell, last week, near Holborn tube station. Then Kate StClaire, four hours later, on exactly the same spot. As this is right in the middle of ILXor Critical Mass it shouldn't be too unexpected though.

I think I saw PJ Miller on Kingsway the other week as well. I waved in his face but he still failed to notice me.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Sunday, 16 July 2006 22:49 (nineteen years ago)

I was actually wandering along thinking "Matt DC works in one of these buildings, I wonder which one?"

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 17 July 2006 05:34 (nineteen years ago)

Dave B at the princess louise, last tuesday

xxxpost i don't think that was me! (i was at home all day learning php)

ken c (ken c), Monday, 17 July 2006 08:35 (nineteen years ago)

The Ken C doppelganger strikes again

Teh littlest HoBBo (the pirate king), Monday, 17 July 2006 08:41 (nineteen years ago)

It's possible, Matt. I sometimes go to Don Quixote for lunch, and sometimes I just wander about aiml;essly, unsure where to go for lunch. I didn't notice anybody waving in my face, but I would probably just assume it was somebody trying to sign me up to Mencap or Shelter or something.

Also, I thought you worked on/in/at Whithall or somewhere like that, Matt.

It is nice to be impromptuly spotted at last. I've been trying for ages.

I think I might have seen Andrew Farrell one day, coming out of a sandwich shop on Newton Street and striding off into Covent Garden's murky backstreets, but I wasn't sure.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller 68), Monday, 17 July 2006 08:50 (nineteen years ago)

That was almost certainly me.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 17 July 2006 09:15 (nineteen years ago)

Yes, I was going to say that I saw Matt on the Corner Of ILX the other week - same place I saw Ktee last month.

Don Quixote! I just got my breakfast there. Wow.

Thom Yorke Is My Spirit Guide (kate), Monday, 17 July 2006 09:20 (nineteen years ago)

I'm just waiting to go now. Don't want to shock them by going too early. Or I might get something and SIT IN THE PARK for half an hour.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller 68), Monday, 17 July 2006 09:24 (nineteen years ago)

No, now you are just inviting us to stalk you, which doesn't count.

:-P

Earwig oh! (Mark C), Monday, 17 July 2006 09:57 (nineteen years ago)

Here's a good one... I went to a friend's apartment over the weekend in Brooklyn. The friend had just moved in, and when I went to the buzzer I noticed that it still had the old tenant's name. Which was Dan S3lzer. So I guess Dan moved out, huh?

Aaron W (Aaron W), Tuesday, 18 July 2006 17:45 (nineteen years ago)

yeah he lives in queens now.

hstencil (hstencil), Tuesday, 18 July 2006 23:59 (nineteen years ago)

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Wednesday, 19 July 2006 08:56 (nineteen years ago)

i went to don quixote, didn't see anyone though.

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Wednesday, 19 July 2006 11:28 (nineteen years ago)

No, sorry, I brought lunch from home.

Kaet (kate), Wednesday, 19 July 2006 11:29 (nineteen years ago)

Sorry, just thinking about this... it's not just weird that we all work within about 2 blocks of one another. But that we ALL go to Don Quixote for lunch, even though there are dozens of other cafes and sandwich bars around?

Kaet (kate), Wednesday, 19 July 2006 11:30 (nineteen years ago)
