I forgot to mention, I also saw a bunch of shitty experimental films at a bar in the Mission called El Rio, and had some shitty wings at Zeitgeist

a being that goes on two legs and is ungrateful (dyao), Wednesday, 19 August 2009 02:24 (sixteen years ago)

should have gone for the cheeseburger at Zeitgeist. one of the best in the city imo.

Highly trained BBQ chef (rockapads), Wednesday, 19 August 2009 02:25 (sixteen years ago)

I can't stand wings, but I've heard Kezar Pub is the only place in the city that does them well.

Highly trained BBQ chef (rockapads), Wednesday, 19 August 2009 02:26 (sixteen years ago)

best wings in SF: San Tung in the Inner Rich, gotta get them salt/pepper or dry

best burger in SF: i really love rosamunde but that's only on Tuesday

(*゚ー゚)θ L(。・_・) °~ヾ(・ε・ *) (Steve Shasta), Wednesday, 19 August 2009 02:27 (sixteen years ago)

yeah we tried ordering burgers but the kitchen wasn't making them :( xp

a being that goes on two legs and is ungrateful (dyao), Wednesday, 19 August 2009 02:28 (sixteen years ago)

what's so good about Rosamunde's burgers? I love their sausages, but haven't had the opportunity to go there on a Tuesday.

Highly trained BBQ chef (rockapads), Wednesday, 19 August 2009 02:29 (sixteen years ago)

this city kinda sucks for burgers tbh. the fact that Burgermeister always wins reader's polls for best burger in the bay is pretty sad. i like the Big Mouth burgers okay, I guess.

Highly trained BBQ chef (rockapads), Wednesday, 19 August 2009 02:31 (sixteen years ago)

kezar pub wings are indeed good

iatee, Wednesday, 19 August 2009 02:33 (sixteen years ago)

sometime in the next 2 weeks SFans should go see American Casino at the Roxie.

Thought briefly this thread was: San Francisco and what to do about it

Aimless, Wednesday, 19 August 2009 03:55 (sixteen years ago)

I am playing a show at the Bottom of the Hill wednesday, the 28th; it'll be the last show I play out for a while and there's a good chance I'll have to cancel at the last minute and ruin my reputation, but I'll try to be there.

akm, Wednesday, 19 August 2009 05:03 (sixteen years ago)

rather, the 26th.

akm, Wednesday, 19 August 2009 05:04 (sixteen years ago)

four weeks pass...

Hey all, will be back in town tomorrow for the On Land Festival over the weekend. Probably seeing Monotonix tomorrow night, but maybe a random FAP Friday night or the like, anyone?

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 17 September 2009 03:12 (sixteen years ago)

three weeks pass...

I imagine everyone's seen this already

the taint of Macca is strong (Shakey Mo Collier), Thursday, 8 October 2009 21:02 (sixteen years ago)

the thing that gets me about this, is that neither of them were actually sitting in the seat they appeared to be fighting over.

sarahel, Thursday, 8 October 2009 21:08 (sixteen years ago)

yeah clip is obviously missing whatever instigated the argument

the taint of Macca is strong (Shakey Mo Collier), Thursday, 8 October 2009 21:16 (sixteen years ago)

still, I feel like I have been on that bus and have witnessed that fight amirite

I loves ya Muni!

the taint of Macca is strong (Shakey Mo Collier), Thursday, 8 October 2009 21:16 (sixteen years ago)

there really can't be another city in the world with a higher % of crazy people on public transit

iatee, Thursday, 8 October 2009 21:17 (sixteen years ago)

yeah, back in my Muni days, if i suspected a seat might be contested, i sat down, figuring possession is 9/10's of Muni law.

sarahel, Thursday, 8 October 2009 21:18 (sixteen years ago)

Early comments on youtube yesterday were comedy gold, including translations... eg, there are a pair of old men off camera goading on the Chinese lady in Chinese:

"Hit her!"
"Yeah, hit her til she dies!"

♪♫(●̲̲̅̅̅̅=̲̲̅̅̅̅●̲̅̅)♪♫ (Steve Shasta), Thursday, 8 October 2009 21:19 (sixteen years ago)

is there a thread for Muni stories? is this that thread? cuz uh I have a LOT

the taint of Macca is strong (Shakey Mo Collier), Thursday, 8 October 2009 21:20 (sixteen years ago)

omg steve

the taint of Macca is strong (Shakey Mo Collier), Thursday, 8 October 2009 21:20 (sixteen years ago)

i imagine there could be some pretty epic fights on the 38 geary.

sarahel, Thursday, 8 October 2009 21:20 (sixteen years ago)

Translation:

Chinese Lady: (0:09): This bitch got the nerve to yell at me for me asking her politely if i may sit down.
(0.48): If that bitch didn't want to let me sit down don't mean she got to bitch at me.
(0:59): I didn't yell at you bitch why you going off on me. If I don't stand up for myself, she won't get scared.
(1:44): Dare to pick on chinese people?
(2:05): This bitch hogging the seat and I asked nicely if I may sit and that bitch kept hogging the seat. She has no heart, always bullying chinese people.
Old Man#2(1:26): Hit that bitch.
Old Man#3(1:33): Beat that bitch ass.
Old Lady#2(1:37): Don't fight no more.
Old Man#2((1:59): Beat the f*@# out of her!

old man 3 otm

iatee, Thursday, 8 October 2009 21:23 (sixteen years ago)

okay that makes sense. it was confusing because it looked like there were two empty seats, enough for each of them to have one.

sarahel, Thursday, 8 October 2009 21:23 (sixteen years ago)

women be bitching

the taint of Macca is strong (Shakey Mo Collier), Thursday, 8 October 2009 21:33 (sixteen years ago)

the worst part of my life is when the 33 gets to the stop in front of amoeba and all the annoying runaways get on and are SO LOUD

69, Thursday, 8 October 2009 21:34 (sixteen years ago)

i just remember taking the 19 a bunch of times where there'd be some guy with bleeding abscesses on his way to SF General.

sarahel, Thursday, 8 October 2009 21:36 (sixteen years ago)

eh kids don't tend to bother me as much as the crazy junkies cuz really you never know what the fuck a crazy junkie is gonna do (stab somebody, drop their pants, throw up, pick a fight, argue loudly about how Lou Reed was in Black Sabbath, etc.)

i actually dont mind the SFGH crowd as much -- i just give em a wide berth. i always find the haight kids are more apt to get up in your shit with their gnar dogs

69, Thursday, 8 October 2009 21:49 (sixteen years ago)

i guess the real truth is that i have yet to experience anything truly wild on public trans in SF or oakland, but iatee seems right about this being the place for it

69, Thursday, 8 October 2009 21:51 (sixteen years ago)

they let the punklets' dogs on the bus?

sarahel, Thursday, 8 October 2009 21:51 (sixteen years ago)

oh but a hooker pinched my butt at 20th and van ness while @nnie and i were walking home one night! it was all in fun, though.

xp ive seen it, but more often theyre just at the bus stop, hollering sublime lyrics at the top of their lungs and talking about how no one smokes weed anymore.

69, Thursday, 8 October 2009 21:53 (sixteen years ago)

the punklets have seriously gone downhill

thing is the dogs would smell better than they did

sarahel, Thursday, 8 October 2009 21:55 (sixteen years ago)

where is the thread about kids blasting music on their cell phones on the back of a bus? it was revived the other day and this conversation brought that to mind

iatee, Thursday, 8 October 2009 21:55 (sixteen years ago)

when i lived in SF (12-13 years ago), I saw kids that I'd seen the previous hanging on the street with their dogs in Santa Cruz, and then I'd go to Berkeley on a date, and see them again.

the taint of Macca is strong (Shakey Mo Collier), Thursday, 8 October 2009 21:59 (sixteen years ago)

Anyone know where you can buy proper (British style) bacon in SF? I got a pack of regular stuff here and it's mostly rubbery fat with a weird flavo(u)ring.
I have only been to a Safeway and a small Trader Joe's so far.
