good question! i'm excited to see serena all badass. i feel she can pull off a good bitch.

dan's cute. blair seems pretty great but almost too perfect? not sure.

ooo...but thats the great thing about blair. she seems like that but then you see little cracks in her perfection. like she'll falter for a moment and it kind of makes you fall in love with her.

i hope serena can be a great badass. im so used to her being blairs voice of reason.

i didn't see tonight's episode, and i'm not even a regular viewer, but bell_labs watches it and so do my roomies so i've seen a bit and this show is WEIRD. it's like, you know.

ian, ive read the books. theres a lot more photographed sex in the park and a whole lot more getting high. like the nate character is completely defined by getting high. its pretty good.

i really liked the books but they are different from the show kinda meaner and more distanced from the characters. they're funnier than the show is usually too.

i would also just like to comment that jenny's dresses are cute and everything, but i'm not sure why they're taking the city by storm. . .

someone is. they get their shit reapplied/readjusted before, during, and after every take, and hair/make-up/wardrobe have their own monitors so they can be like, "omg! hair out of place! cut! cut!"

i am kind of pissed that i just got a hair cut and then saw jenny's new one, because i kind of really like it (obv not blonde but you know, frustrating).

im excited too but has anyone else noticed plots dying or going nowhere? like when dan broke up with serena and she turned back to bad serena all she did was make blairs life hell for a couple of episodes and then revert back to good serena. also, how did the whole nate jenny thing suddenly happen?

yeah the nate/jenny thing is so lol. i mean, there were hints of it last season, but it's like 'he moves in, has shirt off, and BAM!' actually, i guess that's not so far off... anyway... l, i'd love to read these silly books at some point, too! we should have a gg book club LOL.

yeah i actually see the plot thing as kind of a little more real than some other shows that have to drop all the hints and make the build-up really obvious. i mean my life is kind of random like that, i dunno.

you're right about the good serena bad serena thing, it was weird how that disappeared. the nate/jenny thing is less strange, life is random, but it's not that interesting either, nate's just a whore. i also really dislike the arc about blair's desperation to get into yale, because i love blair and she's been nothing but desperate for the last few episodes.

this show has a one and a half episode attention span for story arcs.

it leaves you free to focus on the clothes and lip gloss. speaking of the former, i kind of wish they'd stop with the serena cheesecake (no bra, plunging necklines, microminis).

i always thought i would miss gilmore girls when it went off the air, but i feel like in some weird way by watching 30 rock + gossip girl i get my weekly requirement of screwball yale envy repartee and i don't miss it at all. (though last season of GG kinda helped in the not-gonna-miss-this department.)
