on one hand, people do have coherent political positions that, while misguided, mean they don't really align well with either of the two electable US political parties

on the other hand, there are a bunch of people who treat political parties like a sports team fandom but have no real coherent policy positions at all

I don't really like discussing politics with either

I just got an email that a Trump supporter parent at my kid's school was arrested this morning for starting fights with other parents at drop-off. Crazy times.
