Who knew marketing to mentally ill people was a viable business strategy.

the joke I alluded to was him saying he set up a fake company and gave her purina, not that she actually ate the food

I? not I! He! He! HIM! (akm), Saturday, 14 September 2024 18:30 (one year ago)

i dunno do you think it’s likely that noted menswear writer derek guy actually set up a fake company and sent her purina and $100 in order to back up a joke on twitter?

Humanitarian Pause (Tracer Hand), Saturday, 14 September 2024 18:33 (one year ago)

not to back up a joke but to make a fool of her, yes

Piggy Lepton (La Lechera), Saturday, 14 September 2024 18:38 (one year ago)

(at this point being that she espouses hateful opinions for public consumption and personal profit, i do not have an issue with making a fool of her so maybe i wanted it to be true)

Piggy Lepton (La Lechera), Saturday, 14 September 2024 18:41 (one year ago)

Apparently she is Jewish but has described herself as “pro white nationalist.” These right wingers are so weird and contradictory.

Post-Debate YouGov poll:

But the new poll of 1,755 U.S. adults — one of the first conducted after the Sept. 10 debate — shows Harris (50%) surging to a five-point lead over Trump (45%) among registered voters in a head-to-head match-up. She leads by a similar margin when third-party candidates are included (48% to 44%) and when only likely voters are surveyed (49% to 45%).

There’s a Monster in my Vance (President Keyes), Saturday, 14 September 2024 18:46 (one year ago)

Also:

A Reuters/Ipsos poll, the first to be conducted since the debate, had Harris ahead by five points, 47 to 42%, a 1-point rise on the lead recorded in the week after last month’s Democratic national convention.

Takes one to know one, birds of feather, know your audience, etc

octobeard, Saturday, 14 September 2024 18:50 (one year ago)

Those polls are encouraging--I think both the firms are considered to be very good.

I don’t think the voters are liking the Loomer talking points about cats and dogs that Trump’s adopted

treeship 2, Saturday, 14 September 2024 19:49 (one year ago)

I can’t imagine him winning but who knows

Not to confused with the Illoomerace, a secret society of people who chain themselves to doors.

CLIP: Jill Stein doesn’t know how many members of Congress there are.

Jill: “uh…600?”
Host: “No. 435” pic.twitter.com/iDwkAZSzYZ

jaymc, Sunday, 15 September 2024 00:34 (one year ago)

There are 535 members of Congress?

papal hotwife (milo z), Sunday, 15 September 2024 00:37 (one year ago)

there are 1000 members of congress, and after every election the worst 10% get demoted to a lower level, 5% from the lower level get promoted, and 5% are drafted from college, high school, or international pools

z_tbd, Sunday, 15 September 2024 00:46 (one year ago)

that is what i believe and i'll take my answer off the air aoc

z_tbd, Sunday, 15 September 2024 00:47 (one year ago)

I? not I! He! He! HIM! (akm), Sunday, 15 September 2024 00:51 (one year ago)

There are 535 members of Congress?

jaymc, Sunday, 15 September 2024 01:05 (one year ago)

So Jill Stein is dumber than the host and smarter than the Tweeter.

papal hotwife (milo z), Sunday, 15 September 2024 01:31 (one year ago)

Dumber than both afaict

Wow, the Ann Selzer Iowa poll is always talked about as the "gold standard," the highest quality poll in the country, and look:

IOWA POLL-- Des Moines Register/Ann Selzer (A+)

🟥 Donald Trump 47%
🟦 Kamala Harris 43%
🟨 RFK Jr. 6%

Previous poll: TRUMP +18, June 17

someone posted a high-quality Alaska poll where Trump was up 5, kinda notable since he won the state by 10 in 2020 and 15 in 2016

can only hope this acutally means something, I just cannot fathom that what Trump and Vance are doing right now is actually going to work

underminer of twenty years of excellent contribution to this borad (dan m), Sunday, 15 September 2024 15:07 (one year ago)

great movement, and selzer polls are excellent. the one she does right before the election is so good they might as well not run the election. but the ones she does earlier in the year do lean democratic for some reason.

she had biden and trump tied in june and september 2020, then trump up by 7 the week before the election trump won by 8.

𝔠𝔞𝔢𝔨 (caek), Sunday, 15 September 2024 15:10 (one year ago)

wait what

the talented mr pimply (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Sunday, 15 September 2024 15:12 (one year ago)

selzer june 2020: trump +1
selzer september 2020: tied
selzer election eve 2020: trump +7
election 2020: trump +8

𝔠𝔞𝔢𝔨 (caek), Sunday, 15 September 2024 15:15 (one year ago)

So Selzer was wrong on Election Day?

the talented mr pimply (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Sunday, 15 September 2024 15:16 (one year ago)

No the poll is Iowa-only

tobo73, Sunday, 15 September 2024 15:19 (one year ago)

no, she was almost exactly right with her final iowa state poll (true of her polls for the caucuses and her national polls too, and in 2016 too).

my point is that for whatever reason her general election polls historically skew democratic earlier in the cycle.

to be clear: it is good that harris is down 4 not 18! (not the only good poll in the last couple of days either.)

𝔠𝔞𝔢𝔨 (caek), Sunday, 15 September 2024 15:21 (one year ago)

and yes, all those numbers are iowa not national, sorry if not clear. (although she does do national polls occasionally. her national poll on election eve in 2016 was bang on too.)

𝔠𝔞𝔢𝔨 (caek), Sunday, 15 September 2024 15:23 (one year ago)

sorry, I misread you

the talented mr pimply (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Sunday, 15 September 2024 15:25 (one year ago)
