omar little, Wednesday, 11 September 2024 02:45 (one year ago)

Trump needs to smoke some normal energy plants imo

The king of the demo (bernard snowy), Wednesday, 11 September 2024 02:45 (one year ago)

The power of weaponry.

clemenza, Wednesday, 11 September 2024 02:45 (one year ago)

This was a worse route than I thought. Like, how could have there been doubt?

the talented mr pimply (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Wednesday, 11 September 2024 02:46 (one year ago)

She gave our military to the Taliban?

laughter is the best weapon (DJP), Wednesday, 11 September 2024 02:46 (one year ago)

A tie.

There’s a Monster in my Vance (President Keyes), Wednesday, 11 September 2024 02:46 (one year ago)

Trump ends it with the classic vote for me or die platform

(•̪●) (carne asada), Wednesday, 11 September 2024 02:46 (one year ago)

That was an utter trainwreck of a closing statement.

Ha ha Fox News immediately whining about the moderators

There’s a Monster in my Vance (President Keyes), Wednesday, 11 September 2024 02:47 (one year ago)

His base loves trainwrecks.

Charlie Hair (C. Grisso/McCain), Wednesday, 11 September 2024 02:47 (one year ago)

So relieved

Bee OK, Wednesday, 11 September 2024 02:47 (one year ago)

He needs more than his base

Muad'Doob (Moodles), Wednesday, 11 September 2024 02:48 (one year ago)

She wasn't perfect, but she killed this thing. I was skeptical at first of her facial reactions, and I'm sure they bothered some people, but the strategy of watching and reacting to him on the split-screen I think turned out to be really smart. She was like an audience surrogate, leading people's reactions. She crushed him on the issues where he's weakest, and she just let him go on and on, she didn't petition the moderators to rein him in.

There will be a lot of bitching and assessment of the moderating, but this was mostly a give 'im enough rope-a-dope.

Blitz Primary (tipsy mothra), Wednesday, 11 September 2024 02:48 (one year ago)

the most i've laughed in a while. good debate.

interstellar anthropologist+music philosopher, (Austin), Wednesday, 11 September 2024 02:49 (one year ago)

he just kept returning to the same damn talking points no matter the subject. my kid was laughing at him.

omar little, Wednesday, 11 September 2024 02:49 (one year ago)

My only complaint is she needs more concrete policy ideas. She went back to the small business thing too much and not a lot else.

Muad'Doob (Moodles), Wednesday, 11 September 2024 02:50 (one year ago)

She looked upright and strong, he looked hunched and troll-like. Frustrated, constipated etc.

I didn’t think her own answers on any policy question were particularly great but she did what she needed to do and what for some reason other candidates have struggled with - put him in his place and draw attention to what a shitty alternative he actually is.

Walz on ABC now

"I've been a leader on fertilization" - Donald J. Trump, 2024

jmm, Wednesday, 11 September 2024 02:51 (one year ago)

Bringing up Camp David and Dick Cheney like anyone would GAF was very Democrat. But then Trump got stuck on Orban and Nordstream 2 which are probably about equally exciting to most Americans.

I need men to stop criticising women’s facial expressions when the women are faced with toxic male bullshit.

Walz Literally just called djt an old man yelling at clouds

We're in memetown,

stone cold jane austen (Ye Mad Puffin), Wednesday, 11 September 2024 02:52 (one year ago)

Thanks, suzy

Same thought

the talented mr pimply (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Wednesday, 11 September 2024 02:53 (one year ago)

she annihilated him

omar little, Wednesday, 11 September 2024 02:53 (one year ago)

I was kind of shocked at how easily he walked into the traps she set for him. He just lacks a certain level of self awareness. He let himself get flustered over what was so obviously designed to fluster him.

longtime caller, first time listener (man alive), Wednesday, 11 September 2024 02:54 (one year ago)

I need men to stop criticising women’s facial expressions when the women are faced with toxic male bullshit.

It was a strategy. I think it was an effective one, but it's not like anything she did there wasn't thought out. Way better than his stony glare and obnoxious smirk. All of this is stagecraft!

Blitz Primary (tipsy mothra), Wednesday, 11 September 2024 02:55 (one year ago)

Like,he looked as old and incoherent and stupid as Buden

the talented mr pimply (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Wednesday, 11 September 2024 02:55 (one year ago)

Kamala was fire. What a great performance.

Pretty easy response to the whining about the moderators: they gave him more time than Harris, and they cut her off more often.

The whole debate turned on this remark. He had been making some sense before it. Full sentences. Remembering the brief. Then he started firing at anything that moved. https://t.co/lLUmnPy2yk

its so weird to see someone who is so incapable of speaking directly to voters. he refuses to do it. his whole final statement was directed at her. he never once made a statement to voters!

scott seward, Wednesday, 11 September 2024 03:03 (one year ago)

She did exactly what I hoped! Express policy issues, and add a statement to get Trump mad enough to rant about random shit to defend himself to where he offered nothing on policy. Damn, it's weird to get what you actually hoped for!
