Trump’s rambling, disconnected-from-reality monologues have long been a staple of his political persona. Biden, especially in the debate, also delivered rambling digressions that often left people confused and left voters with a sense of despair about both candidates. Now that Harris is the Democratic nominee, there is a far clearer contrast between her and Trump in this election.

Hey if that means they're finally stuck with centering Trump's idiocies whether they like it or not, I'm good with it. That's a surrender document.

One thing the past few weeks have made clear is that whether or not Trump wins or loses J.D. Vance is not going to be the nominee in 2028.

I do a lot of work in a union facility. This is just one solitary anecdotal data point, but I was working next to a couple of union guys and overheard them talking politics. The younger guy was basically repeating talking points he had heard on Fox.

Younger guy: talking garbage about Walz

Older guy: “he’s very pro-Union though”

Younger guy, after conceding that point, started repeating Vance’s garbage about Walz

Older guy: “but he served 24 years, if I had served that long I would want to retire whenever I want”

Younger guy keeps at it

I said: “not to butt in, but I don’t like all this smearing of people’s service records. I think it’s bullshit.”

Younger guy suddenly had nothing more to say. The older guy said he agreed with me. He basically said that as a veteran himself, who didn’t see combat, he is insulted by the idea that Walz’s long service record was somehow not to be honored.

Here's a clip from that. Not for nothing, she's very good on the stump. I do think she should do some one-on-one interviews and press conferences, which I imagine she will soon. But it's funny to think how much concern there was (I shared it!) about her ability to go out and sell a message.
