he got the nod because of one weird thing

― lag∞n, Tuesday, August 6, 2024 10:00 AM (three hours ago) bookmarkflaglink

Walz is seen by Harris’ camp as a deft messenger, popularizing “weird” as a messaging framework to describe former President Donald Trump and Sen. JD Vance — a cutting and clear tagline that went viral over the last two weeks.

There were waaaaaay too many Republicans on t.v. saying that KH should pick Shapiro. i didn't trust it.

Starting with Morning Joe.

the talented mr pimply (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 6 August 2024 17:18 (one year ago)

The He-Man Woman-Haters Club was a neighborhood boys club founded by Spanky and comprising nearly all the boys in the club. Spanky had founded the exclusive club as a defense against girls and Valentine's Day, but Alfalfa's heart was just not in it. His love for Darla keeps him from taking it seriously, but Spanky soon forces him to realize the bonds of brotherhood. Spanky later restores the club as an act of revenge after none of the boys gets invited to the MacGillicuddy Girls' party, and institutes Alfalfa as president. However, when Alfalfa learns the club rules to never fraternize with the girls again, he is forced to rush back and get back a love note he sent to Darla, later trapping the club members there, but he gets busted when the love note is discovered.

scott seward, Tuesday, 6 August 2024 17:39 (one year ago)

Man if Walz had the early Seger homemade comp that vectored up through ILM that would be amazing.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 6 August 2024 17:40 (one year ago)

haha little rascals is lit! things you were shockingly old when you learned

he/him hoo-hah (map), Tuesday, 6 August 2024 17:41 (one year ago)

"quality speaker wires matter people!" i wonder if he's dabbled in any audio fidelity snake oil in his time.

Kate Tucker
99.9% of Minnesotans could not care less about your daughter's speakers, your joy of classic vinyl, and your love of Bob Seger.

Jersey Devil Vance (President Keyes), Tuesday, 6 August 2024 17:45 (one year ago)

GOP just abandoning the vinyl dad demo entirely

the absence of bikes (f. hazel), Tuesday, 6 August 2024 17:46 (one year ago)

XPS It goes without saying to not read comments sections, but seriously--don't read the comments on that Walz vinyl FB post. Lots of Covid-era MAGA bitching.

Charlie Hair (C. Grisso/McCain), Tuesday, 6 August 2024 17:47 (one year ago)

He's got Uh Huh on vinyl. Maybe there's video of him doing karaoke of "The Authority Song."

Jersey Devil Vance (President Keyes), Tuesday, 6 August 2024 17:49 (one year ago)

99.9% of Minnesotans could not care less about your daughter's speakers

But the .01% who did all started Bob Seger tribute bands

Andy the Grasshopper, Tuesday, 6 August 2024 17:50 (one year ago)

GOP is really struggling to define these two, the messaging is all over the place

"Dangerous Radicals out of touch with average Americans" says the party that last won the popular vote in 2004

Andy the Grasshopper, Tuesday, 6 August 2024 17:52 (one year ago)

compare any of this walz stuff with the jd vance video of him last week showing us what it's like backstage at a repub rally and it's a white folding table with a box of snickers. i cannot convey how sad and awful the video is

bleak...

scott seward, Tuesday, 6 August 2024 18:00 (one year ago)

it almost seems like he just brought that stuff there. he probably had to beg for the table.

scott seward, Tuesday, 6 August 2024 18:01 (one year ago)

If the Dems weren't so inherently hapless most of the time, I would honestly be wondering if the last several weeks weren't part of an intricately-plotted long game. Like way too much has just slotted so neatly into place with such casual, effortless grace, it's hard to believe there isn't some grandmaster moving pieces around behind the curtain

scott seward, Tuesday, 6 August 2024 18:02 (one year ago)

Charlie Hair (C. Grisso/McCain), Tuesday, 6 August 2024 18:03 (one year ago)

the dangerous and vicious liberals of minnesota. we've heard all about them for years. terrifying.

scott seward, Tuesday, 6 August 2024 18:04 (one year ago)

Re: that O_o Vance video, like our event budget at work is meager at best but we still manage a better spread than that no matter how many single-digit dozens of people we're expecting to attend.

Great-Tasting Burger Perceptions (Old Lunch), Tuesday, 6 August 2024 18:05 (one year ago)

someone on my facebook thanked donald trump for the great nickname idea and had a big picture of KH with LION KAMALA over the top. i thought that could actually catch on!

scott seward, Tuesday, 6 August 2024 18:06 (one year ago)

JD Vance hit Tim Walz as a "San Francisco-style liberal" during his remarks in Philadelphia a while ago.

A key irony there: Vance spent about four years living in SF between 2013 and 2017 as a venture capitalist.

Walz visited SF for the first time *just last month.*

bravo! Send it to her campaign

Andy the Grasshopper, Tuesday, 6 August 2024 18:14 (one year ago)

One thing I learned reporting on Walz’s teaching years is that when he coached middle school basketball he secretly lowered a hoop and convinced his team that he could dunk

If I heard correctly on TV, Amy Klobuchar just said her mother in law gave the Walz family a chicken parmesan bake when their son was born. absolutely violent levels of midwestern.
