It's a 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom house, 1800 square feet. It's not a cabin, it's a house than the house where my family and I live. He bought it, his wife didn't inherit it, but he did use proceeds from selling a place his wife inherited -- yes, if you have family money that you can use to buy a $575,000 seasonal house, you are rich. But I don't think there's any hypocrisy in being rich and sticking up for not-rich people, I think sticking up for not-rich people is the morally correct stance for everybody at every income level. Hypocrisy would be having the generational wealth to buy a second house and then saying that you shouldn't have to pay taxes to support people who didn't work hard for their wealth like you did.

tho i do think the whole conversation about rich politicians is somewhat looking at it backwards, its a symptom, the only thing that gets good things for ordinary people is people power, using that power to influence the political system

When I lived on the east coast I never ate fish. Now that I'm in Montana, on the shore of a giant lake, I eat fish a couple of times a week, it feels like. Still not gonna eat bugs, whether shrimp-sized or lobster-sized.

i was reading about how people are pissed that hipster rich people have made the price of oxtail go up so high. used to be dirt cheap and a poor folk delicacy.

yeah they used to feed lobster to prisoners in maine but i suspect they werent keeping them alive in a tank until right before cooking giving you the bib and so forth
