the fully overhead shot of the 100m that they showed on BBC is the best video i’ve seen, lyles actually overtakes thompson with like 10m to go and is able to hold him off. you can see his head cross first pretty clearly. insane how slow lyles is out of the blocks, he was clearly in last after the first 10m. i guess you can see why he’s really a 200m runner

I watched the replay of the table tennis Olympic final last night. Wish Moregardh tried this earlier. That final was a bit closer than the scoreline suggests and it'll be interesting how he will shape up in four years.

noah lyles has so much weird guy energy i kinda just have to stan a little. probably would be the most annoying person you could ever be around but i appreciate him being a totally different type of world classs athlete.

i watched the finals of the mens and womens skeet shooting. vince won his 4th gold medal in a row which is insane, and no one cares or knows who he is. dont even think they mentioned it on prime time? silver medalist was also a young american who outclassed him until the final 4 shots.

golf final nine was incredible.

womens road race, when our girl hit the afterburners that was the good stuff baby. pretty wild to watch the next 3 just dink around until like the last 50 feet.

– womens water polo usa vs croatia
– pole vualt final - can anyone even come close to duplantis? will he break his own world record? How is he so much better than everyone else.
– track races obv - 800 should be good
– balance beam
– mens high bar which is the only mens gymnastics thing i really love to watch
– wrestling, i try to watch a lot of freestyle, hoping helen margoulis can medal again but there's plenty of others to cheer for
– mixed team skeet shooting? i guess im a fan now
– cycling track events are always fun
– ill check out the bouldering but more interested in the speed climbing
– might check some badminton but dont think it translates well for tv viewing, the pickleball problem, if you will

Yeah just got discovery+. Its a real shame re: contract. Streaming is wonderful, can say its the first time it has proven to be really, really useful for me because the half a dozen sports I really like are things the Brits aren't good at.

iPlayer has been giving two live feeds but they chop and change halfway through things and there's too much blabbing in the studio plus all the anjoying af adverts for...iPlayer
