Until literally yesterday I didn't realise that Deodato (who did a jazz-funk cover of "Also Sprach Zarathustra" in 1973) and Meco (who did a disco cover of the Star Wars theme in 1977) were completely different musicians. From different eras.

It's a shame because some of Deodato's music is legitimately good, but in my mind I just dismissed it as novelty rubbish:
