No, I know. Hopefully not too hot. We were just having a convo at work about how dreary to feels like spring/early summer have been so I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. Maybe the sun is planning big things for those months.

It feels like it has been a pretty grotty year in the UK. I know it's always unsettled but it feels particularly unsettled this year. We will usually have had at least a couple of periods of extended high pressure by now. Ugh.

Yeah that's how it's seemed to me.

I have mostly been in the US during the most recent UK heatwaves, but we haven’t had a wet June like this for years! This time last year, we were sweltering.

Last year we had a good May-June, garbage July-August and a finally some days over 30C in September. Most of Europe seems to be having a fairly normal one so far tbh.

this forecast for tomorrow just makes me think the entire town is going to disappear in a cloud of steam.

something that doesn't bode well for me. i was out today a little bit and i REALLY don't like breathing in extremely hot air. it has gotten worse as i have aged. it never used to bother me much. i don't know if it has anything to do with being a smoker for so many years. my lungs are healthy. it just really makes me breathe heavy and takes the wind out of me in a way that it never used to. maybe that's why Walgreens sells little portable oxygen tanks now.

i'm pretty sure it was 100% humidity yesterday. it was so gross. also we got a tornado warning.

it's raining here tomorrow and "mini-heatwave" is forecasted to be over by wednesday and it doesn't get any hotter than mid 20's in the north.

The app I use is giving an average high of only 27C in central London this week but it's a different model they use, I expect it will go a little higher here and there.

Yesterday in Washington felt not as bad as it could have been it was overcast and there was a steady wind.

Holy heck, Baltimore County was rough today. Brutal humidity.

I took my usual 30 minute walk late in the morning and it was hard to get through. Am just now starting to feel myself, and that’s after hours in the house with AC and glasses of water.

I was texting with an ex in Arkansas yesterday and she described the 'heat index' as being 112* - is that like the inverse of wind chill? heat + humidity + lack of a breeze?
She said she couldn't even go outside

it was so humid here today. yuck. luckily we are now getting another 10 inches of rain. it never rains a little when it rains now. just buckets.

Rumor has it it's gonna be 95 by me on Wednesday and Thursday. But I'm not sure I believe that.

It’s been 103-105 for a week, down to 93 today and it felt so good in comparison.

Stepping into 105 completely saps my will to live but at least I can function in the mid 90s.

it was 113 in Sacramento today, so we headed to a friend’s house in Concord an hour away since they have a pool and slightly cooler

but traffic was fuxking horrific and it took over TWO HOURS to get there and our car’s A/C busted on the way so we were crawling along I-80 with the windows down drowning in sweat omg i have never sweated so much sans exercise

ConEd keeps texting and emailing me to tell me to reduce consumption during peak hours but, just as a particularly NYC-centric example, fuck off out of here until you dim the lights in Times Square and every corporate office that's air conditioned down to 57 degrees (on a SUNDAY, mind you).

to be fair, lots of corporate offices I'm sure don't want to pay extravagant power bills. They shut AC off in my building on Sunday.
