I think I like '± nothing', N..

cozen (Cozen), Sunday, 25 April 2004 00:46 (twenty-two years ago)

I tried Glasgow in the triumvirate's absence. It was OK! Two French girls said I sucked but then said I was the nicest boy in Glasgow. It meant ± nothing.

N. (nickdastoor), Sunday, 25 April 2004 04:17 (twenty-two years ago)

we could play pool, in the triumvirate's absence?

actually, how long are they gone?

cozen (Cozen), Sunday, 25 April 2004 09:06 (twenty-two years ago)

...said I was the nicest boy in Glasgow

Nice to see that you are covering well for 96 in his absence.

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 25 April 2004 09:09 (twenty-two years ago)

abcess.

RJG (RJG), Sunday, 25 April 2004 14:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Ally is not nice! He's a monster.

I have only just got up. It's a beautiful day. I'm starving. I've ruined everything. I don't know about pool.

N. (nickdastoor), Sunday, 25 April 2004 14:58 (twenty-two years ago)

I was only saying was all.

cozen (Cozen), Sunday, 25 April 2004 14:59 (twenty-two years ago)

No, it's a good idea, but I don't want to think about things that involve more drinking and stinking right now.

N. (nickdastoor), Sunday, 25 April 2004 15:18 (twenty-two years ago)

you're not playing pool properly.

cozen (Cozen), Sunday, 25 April 2004 15:19 (twenty-two years ago)

I am trying oko's buffet more tonight, I think. sushi.

cozen (Cozen), Sunday, 25 April 2004 15:20 (twenty-two years ago)

That sounds nice.

N. (nickdastoor), Sunday, 25 April 2004 15:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Cozen - indeed sitting on the war memorial with Chris "Cunthead" Muirhead, vaguely aware that we were sitting on a regular late night pissing point...

such a nice night for sitting around discussing the stupidity fo disliking Elvis cause he ripped of black music...

man, you should have said 'ello...

Robbie Lumsden (Wallace Stevens HQ), Sunday, 25 April 2004 16:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Glasgow is so beautiful today it's talking the piss.

N. (nickdastoor), Sunday, 25 April 2004 17:45 (twenty-two years ago)

It was a really nice day. I had to spend a huge percentage of my weekly income on a pair of sunglasses (£15! the cheapest in boots!) otherwise the sunny day sickness would have struck me too hard...

i hate it that the sun makes me feel ill, it makes me sound like an horrendous goth (or worse: the narrator of garbage's awful "Only happy when it rains).

Robbie Lumsden (Wallace Stevens HQ), Sunday, 25 April 2004 21:00 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm struggling to think of what 'talking the piss' might mean. Taking.

Boots can fuck off.

N. (nickdastoor), Sunday, 25 April 2004 21:35 (twenty-two years ago)

I trust boots though. I'm constantly worried about buying sunglasses from a shady retailer and finding out that their the ones that end up burning your retina...

'talking the piss' is, i wd imagine, some sort of irish expression meaning 'talking about drinking', which would be a form of pornograpgy if this saying is the truth:

"a quare in ireland is a man who prefers women to drink..."

Robert Lumsden (Wallace), Sunday, 25 April 2004 21:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Shady retailers are where it's at when it comes to sunglasses.

N. (nickdastoor), Sunday, 25 April 2004 21:41 (twenty-two years ago)

D'uh! check my second rate word assosciation there...

Robert Lumsden (Wallace), Sunday, 25 April 2004 21:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Why have you become Robert?

N. (nickdastoor), Sunday, 25 April 2004 21:44 (twenty-two years ago)

I would say it's because it's sunday......

I found out i had registered twice, so i was just experimenting with proper name-isms....

back to the ever childlike Robbie though...

Robbie Lumsden (Wallace Stevens HQ), Sunday, 25 April 2004 21:47 (twenty-two years ago)

wow, glasgow is stunning this morning.

I played three-on-three basketball last night. it felt like summer had started.

I then watched kill bill one w. eilidh and all the smiths videos back to back.

it felt like summer had started.

I'm gunna try some more glasgow today. after the rape, murder, assault and public order.

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 26 April 2004 09:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Aye Glasgow's mega 2day.

where do you play basketball? is it the summer paradise Hayburn Crescent (i remember an ace game of night time football I played there, during a party at a flat in Hayburn crescent)?

Victoria Park is another good place for the B-Ball...

Robbie Lumsden (Wallace Stevens HQ), Monday, 26 April 2004 09:10 (twenty-two years ago)

there's a park just up from partick cricket ground, just down from my flat (on clarence drive.) it's just one hoop, fairly informal. I've never played basketball before but I think I did alright.

we should play some football again. N.?

if only ally c were here.

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 26 April 2004 09:21 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm at work and it's supposed to rain later.

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 26 April 2004 09:27 (twenty-two years ago)

as i overheard on the lift today: one side said it was gonna be like this all week, the other said it was gonna rain.

It also hasn't snowed yet this april, and that is a given in Glasgow, so my bets are on a snowstorm by thursday.

Robbie Lumsden (Wallace Stevens HQ), Monday, 26 April 2004 09:31 (twenty-two years ago)

are 'fred perry' satchels OK?

haha rain.

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 26 April 2004 09:32 (twenty-two years ago)

fred perry's not as cool as fruit of the loom. but still cool.

Robbie Lumsden (Wallace Stevens HQ), Monday, 26 April 2004 14:10 (twenty-two years ago)

I tried edinburgh.

I had a job interview.

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 1 May 2004 06:11 (twenty-two years ago)

what's c-man really like?

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 1 May 2004 10:09 (twenty-two years ago)

imagine!

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 1 May 2004 11:22 (twenty-two years ago)

ryan air is making it very easy to try glasgow this month.

lauren (laurenp), Saturday, 1 May 2004 11:37 (twenty-two years ago)

not for us.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 1 May 2004 11:40 (twenty-two years ago)

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FLY FROM AMERICA TO GLASGOW WITH RYANAIR - THEIR PLANES ARE NOT EQUIPPED FOR THIS MAMMOTH JOURNEY AND YOU WILL FALL INTO THE SEA.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 1 May 2004 11:41 (twenty-two years ago)

but the gner takes such a long time from new york.

lauren (laurenp), Saturday, 1 May 2004 11:44 (twenty-two years ago)

How do Ryanair's Boeing 737-800's get delivered from Seattle, please N.?

Mooro (Mooro), Saturday, 1 May 2004 11:47 (twenty-two years ago)

BY THE GRACE OF ANGELS.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 1 May 2004 11:49 (twenty-two years ago)

do the angels shout or sing?

Mooro (Mooro), Saturday, 1 May 2004 11:51 (twenty-two years ago)

THE HARPIES SING, THE ANGELS SIGH, THE PILOT CLOSES HIS EYES.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 1 May 2004 11:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Lauren, you should come, yes. Glasgow is bright and beautitiful today, and this weather will surely not change by the end of the month. I think it would be nice if you came on a train across the Atlantic. It would be like Spirited Away. We will turn you into a pig.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 1 May 2004 11:59 (twenty-two years ago)

beautitiful

Oh dear, I fear I have ruined everything.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 1 May 2004 12:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Don't pretend like you didn't mean to do that.

N. can you explain why the GNER trains from King's Cross to Glasgow, via Edinburgh, take the same amount of time as the Virgin trains that go direct? Ye cannae change the laws of physics. (Llaws of physics, laws of physics.)

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Saturday, 1 May 2004 12:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Unfortunately, you cannae get around to upgrading the West Coast mainline, either.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 1 May 2004 12:36 (twenty-two years ago)

I am going to try Glasgow some more between the 11th & 13th of June. Sally might try it even more than me, from the 9th to the 13th.

Mooro (Mooro), Saturday, 1 May 2004 12:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Ah good.

Supposedly, the first phase of the modernisation will have an effect from September, cutting half an hour off the London-Glasgow journey. The target is 4hrs 15mins by 2008.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 1 May 2004 12:49 (twenty-two years ago)

RJG says early in this thread "I have an idea".

I like the mystery of this - should it be left forever unexplained?

the bellefox, Saturday, 1 May 2004 12:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Me and my real person will be up for that weekend of June, also.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Saturday, 1 May 2004 13:18 (twenty-two years ago)

That weekend has been somewhat fucked up by Belle and bloody Sebastian.

Ally C (Ally C), Saturday, 1 May 2004 14:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Won't 10,000 cardie-wearing biscuit nibblers provide a pool from which to fill The Winchester Club? The B&S event is supposed to finish at 9 pm, after all.

Mooro (Mooro), Saturday, 1 May 2004 14:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes, but evil Murdoch will no doubt overrun his set and then lead the impressionable children a merry dance to some 'aftershow party'.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 1 May 2004 14:35 (twenty-two years ago)

I am to explain.

my words, to do so, are: there after show parties and poofs.

ally said I also have to say that the people that like belle & sebastian, these days, are mentalists and the national pop league john is DJing, after, maybe, who knows?

everyone, obviously, should want to see PIPAS. no mentalists, here.

crosspost
