I'd forgotten to do the Wordall today! yes it was a headscratcher.

I just learned about Wordall thanks to this thread today, what a fun game

Tried Wordall but the inability to backspace using the keyboard is a non-starter for me.

managed to shave 1 sec off my best Wordall time today. even with a mistake.

yesterday I had never heard of Ovula; today on the Wordall another word I've never seen and one I was iffy about.

Anyone's Connections not working today? The other games seem OK

Works for me, got it with no errors.

Wordle seems like it's down to just words with two of the same letter now.

if you get a hit on the “wrong” greens first there could be like 20 different possibilities

so plan two steps ahead and pick a word that maximally reduces the number of possible words?

for Connections, today's was the first of those I've done where there was definitely a group of four that neatly fit into a category but which wasn't an answer: Fuji, Canon, Polaroid and Olympus are all brands of cameras

I made that mistake too, it was annoying. Anyway, 'shake it like a polaroid' is a very outdated term referring to the past with Fuji peel-apart films, today's polaroids are integral films with the film development occurring between protective layers, and with much more painterly results, and there is no shaking, just initially shielding from light

The US-centric nature of Connections continues to be the most infuriating thing about it. 'stat' meaning 'don't delay' isn't something I've heard of .

I've gotten into the habit of reading the comments after I do the NYT crossword, and the boomers do get testy when there's a contemporary pop-culture reference or bit of slang they've never heard.

It's a fairly recent loanword, but it's in the dictionary, so it's an English word as much as "coffee" or "pundit" or sth like half of our language is.
