my friend used to go to the all you can eat shrimp promotion all the time and she'd order several plates worth and she'd save a few of each plate by putting them in a box, never had a problem with it. and then one day went to a different location and got told that she could only be given a box if she was done with her meal, not in advance to scoop some shrimp to save.

she said the waitress said they had an internal meeting about it and they all agreed this practice was an example of "shrimp hoarding". the friend ordered another plate of shrimp, and as she walked away, the waitress muttered "shrimp hoarder" under her breath.

I've never eaten in one. I've been to other Darden properties like Seasons 52 though.

The Lobster was my dad's fancy birthday dinner meal of choice, I liked the tiny baked potatoes. Every other restaurant tries to fill you up with a 1 pound tater so they can save on the meat, not Red Lobster. You're getting a gallon of garlic butter delivered via frozen seafood alongside a 4 oz potato.

Making Cheddar Bay biscuits at home just isn't the same.

Makes me think of the Stewart O'Nan novel Last Night at the Lobster, about - you guessed it - the last night of a Red Lobster franchise. Wondering why it wasn't made into an indie flick years ago.
