today's is ridiculous...got in 6 and guess-learned a whole new word en route

Yeah I got it in 4, was pretty straightforward once I had 4 letters

I had a lucky combination of things in the second word and got it in 3. Hitting the right consonant early makes such a huge difference.

are we talking about today's wordle? they told me I had higher skill level but worse luck, like often, and that I didn't even solve it as well as the NYT average person, which is insulting.

these wordlebot comments and NYT averages are depressing and I'm coming think are meant to intimidate

if we are talking about today's connections, I only got the blue tier because it was the only category left

I got today's in 4. Might've been able to get it in 3 if I hadn't spaced and played that move as if my last two letters were yellow instead of green.

I got it in 4 -- might have gotten it in 3 but I perversely tried PUBIC for that guess.

Xp DanS … that was me except the green tier … I had 3 of the 4 at first and then moved on to a different connection because I didn’t want to waste guesses on figuring out the fourth… my initial 4th included “duck (duck goose)”

Connections feels kinda arbitrary and half-assed.. Like, in the instructions, they show easy at the top and purple at the bottom. Why not put the rows in order spatially, once you've solved them? If you solve purple it should appear at the bottom.

so you can see that you guessed purple first, and bossed it.

I don’t think showing the rows in the order you solved them is arbitrary. You’d also get the cognitive dissonance of having a blue or green row breaking up the playing field if you solve them out of order rather than keeping all of the words still in play together.

yesterday's had steal, deal, buy, value but, unless it's another AmE thing, they're not all synonyms just more or less words in the same area.

i would say "that's a steal / deal" but not "that's a value" - maybe mario would - i'd say "that's good value" but it's not a noun on its own. as for buy, i've never heard it used anything like that.

It's more of a semantic field thing, I guess.

WordAll today was one of the hardest I've seen. Took me 20 mins according to the page (though I obviously wasn't staring at it that entire time)

I did today's WordAll in 3m27 - it wasn't easy though

the broader point is solid though ("buy" definitely a pretty wack stretch). I think of Connections as a kind of training ground for the half-assedness of crossword clues. maybe mentally append a "sometimes" or "in a way" or "?" after all their categories

Had to chuckle today at the name of the yellow category in connections. For purple I had 8 things left and just picked the ones that looked kinda random and that worked.

Xps the wall was always the one I struggled with on only connect and connections has massively helped my game improve

Tried Wordall but the inability to backspace using the keyboard is a non-starter for me.

managed to shave 1 sec off my best Wordall time today. even with a mistake.

yesterday I had never heard of Ovula; today on the Wordall another word I've never seen and one I was iffy about.
