I’m ceaselessly amazed that thousands of people voluntarily subject themselves to Trump’s meandering train of thought speeches. As long as he hits the proper punchlines I guess: his trials are bullshit and foreigners are terrible.

The Hannibal Lecter bit is a bigoted joke comparing immigrants to serial killers, he doesn't think Lecter was real or endorsing him.

When I was growing up in the ‘70s/‘80s I recognized the fact that most Americans were either slightly conservative or slightly liberal, and a minority were fundamentalist Christians who were way out there in cuckooland. It’s only in the past ten years that I’ve realized that 50% of Americans are either completely insane or are severely cognitively impaired. It’s at least 50%, you can’t tell me it’s less, not any more.

I was at an art opening last night and there was a woman with a piece in the show telling people that General Patton was Trump's biological father. This was a fairly small town gallery, but a nice group of seemingly liberal art lovers, and it seemed completely wacky and out of place despite the countryside around the town being covered in Trump crap.

It was in Freeport, IL, by the way, site of one of the Lincoln/Douglas debates.
