Happy New Year ILXors. Moose Jaw is burning!

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Friday, 2 January 2004 14:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Is that a good thing H?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 2 January 2004 14:33 (twenty-two years ago)

no, it's sorta sad.

http://sask.cbc.ca

however, it feels like a monday, but it's actually a friday! that's a good thing.

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Friday, 2 January 2004 19:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Happy Friday, Huck.

I can't believe I've been in Chicago since Monday morning! Crazy.

Anyway, I'm happy today because I'm feeling loads better, even though I had both ice cream and sorbet for dinner, and because I'm FAPing tomorrow night. So then maybe I'll know someone else in Chicago other than my - of course I love him - boyfriend.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Saturday, 3 January 2004 05:06 (twenty-two years ago)

I woke up to snow! I love snow. Now you get to experience Chicago snow, Sarah and Nick! WooO!

I don't talk about my life in detail soemtimes because it seems like it would just be depressing. But once in a while I'll open up to someone and they'll be cool and understanding and sweet and that just rocks.

Things have really sucked the past few days, but now there are some little tiny hopeful things. Partially because snow makes me inordinately happy.

JuliaA (j_bdules), Sunday, 4 January 2004 18:24 (twenty-two years ago)

We are enjoying the snow, Julia, especially since it's still in that pretty, fluffy stage right now.

It sure is weird living right next door to a church. Earlier we heard gospel music and real drums. Now it's quavery organ music and a choir. But also it's kind of neat walking down the block and seeing the big cross lit up right beside our door.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Sunday, 4 January 2004 19:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Happy New Year, y'all!!

luna (luna.c), Sunday, 4 January 2004 20:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Yay New Year's! It is a good thing still.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 4 January 2004 20:16 (twenty-two years ago)

back to work tomorrow for me
up to my neck in cases
i can only check in here and there
but all of you are aces!

Orbit (Orbit), Sunday, 4 January 2004 21:44 (twenty-two years ago)

ILX sabbatical HAD to end today, since I need to be amused. Hullo, everyone!

Things have really sucked the past few days, but now there are some little tiny hopeful things.

Hold on, Julia. Have things gotten any better?

This is almost exactly (ie, it ain't mine, and mine has different rims) my new car. Well, 2002, but it's new to me.

Yay car!

luna (luna.c), Monday, 5 January 2004 20:31 (twenty-two years ago)

people with cars are awesome ( i don't drive, but I'm going to need to soon)

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Monday, 5 January 2004 20:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, if you were nearby, I'd drive you around - it's one of my favorite things to do ever.

(Clearly I should become a taxi driver)

luna (luna.c), Monday, 5 January 2004 20:33 (twenty-two years ago)

If it talked too, Luna, then that would be the new definition of cool.

(double x-post)

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Monday, 5 January 2004 20:34 (twenty-two years ago)

yay! car!

Kingfishee (Kingfish), Monday, 5 January 2004 20:34 (twenty-two years ago)

nearby is relative, and I'm now much nearer in relation to you having a hot set of wheels. I'm done work in 45 minutes.

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Monday, 5 January 2004 20:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Okay, if I leave now, I can pick you up... hmm... sometime in the middle of the night.

luna (luna.c), Monday, 5 January 2004 20:41 (twenty-two years ago)

well, it's not like I have anything to hurry home for

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Monday, 5 January 2004 20:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Luna don't need no stinkin' speed limits.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 5 January 2004 20:43 (twenty-two years ago)

I rarely ever speed.

luna (luna.c), Monday, 5 January 2004 20:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Much.

luna (luna.c), Monday, 5 January 2004 20:51 (twenty-two years ago)

oh, we can change that right quick.

since roadtrips are being undertaken(undertook?), please head eastward after you pick up Mann. Canadian bands tell me that you can get back across the border easiest in Montana, then you're only two time zones away from michigan!

Kingfishee (Kingfish), Monday, 5 January 2004 20:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Okay - I can pick up one more person then - unless someone wants to ride in the trunk (which has a safety release, btw).

luna (luna.c), Monday, 5 January 2004 20:55 (twenty-two years ago)

*whistles idly*

oops (Oops), Monday, 5 January 2004 20:57 (twenty-two years ago)

boy, if you mean to come along, yer gettin' strapped the hood.

Kingfishee (Kingfish), Monday, 5 January 2004 20:58 (twenty-two years ago)

once again, what I thought was a romantic rendezvous turns out to be a carpool

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Monday, 5 January 2004 20:59 (twenty-two years ago)

"Strapped the hood"? How quaint.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 5 January 2004 20:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Ned, it's the new standard of romance.

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Monday, 5 January 2004 21:01 (twenty-two years ago)

autoerotica?

Kingfishee (Kingfish), Monday, 5 January 2004 21:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Aww, I just didn't want you to think I only wanted one thing, Huck.

luna (luna.c), Monday, 5 January 2004 21:07 (twenty-two years ago)

well that much is obvious!

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Monday, 5 January 2004 21:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Right, two things.
And whoyoutalkin' to, K-fish?

oops (Oops), Monday, 5 January 2004 21:10 (twenty-two years ago)

But I... I mean, I... well, um... but there's th... yeah ok.

luna (luna.c), Monday, 5 January 2004 21:11 (twenty-two years ago)

But I... I mean, I... well, um... but there's th... yeah ok.

uh oh. we broke luna.

clearly, only chocolate gelato can save the day.

Kingfishee (Kingfish), Monday, 5 January 2004 21:24 (twenty-two years ago)

What, no cherries? Philistine!

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Monday, 5 January 2004 21:25 (twenty-two years ago)

No, I just couldn't deny what he said.

No gelato - I'm cold. Besides, I like spumoni better.

luna (luna.c), Monday, 5 January 2004 21:28 (twenty-two years ago)

http://www.edys.com/images/flavorImages/1626b.jpg ?

Kingfishee (Kingfish), Monday, 5 January 2004 21:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Better. I'm still too cold though. The AC is set on 'Arctic Circle at Three AM on the Coldest Day of the Year" in this bitch.

luna (luna.c), Monday, 5 January 2004 21:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Crack the thermostat open and change it, Luna. Simple.

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Monday, 5 January 2004 21:46 (twenty-two years ago)

use the skull of your cow-orker, if you need to.

Kingfishee (Kingfish), Monday, 5 January 2004 21:47 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm not a moron - the fucking thing doesn't work. You can't change it more than 3 degrees at a time, or it shuts down and defaults to 'really fucking cold'.

luna (luna.c), Monday, 5 January 2004 21:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Fuck. Why would you need the AC in CA in *mid-Winter*? The lawyers afraid of falling asleep?

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Monday, 5 January 2004 21:50 (twenty-two years ago)

chair thru the window?

Kingfishee (Kingfish), Monday, 5 January 2004 21:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Mid winter in LA is practically high summer everywhere else.

luna (luna.c), Monday, 5 January 2004 21:54 (twenty-two years ago)

It snowed today!

Kingfishee (Kingfish), Monday, 5 January 2004 22:06 (twenty-two years ago)

(Nichole, thanks, things have gotten a bit better. They always do, somewhat)

Now I don't remember what I was going to say. Hi. Yay for the car, Luna!

JuliaA (j_bdules), Monday, 5 January 2004 22:20 (twenty-two years ago)

once again, what I thought was a romantic rendezvous turns out to be a carpool

MsLaura to thread.

Hi. I'm back. New York was big and overwhelming and it was nice to see friends and family but the city wore me down. I'm very glad not to live there anymore.

Anyway. I've been debating whether to come back to ILX or not, after my 2-week sabbatical, but... well, I'm putting my toes in the water.

Casuistry (Chris P), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 00:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Do come back!

I'm so jealous that you all got to chit chat away today!

I was at my new job, which went just fine thanks for asking. But I don't foresee any ILXing there for a very long time. In fact, my boss was sitting at my desk showing me how to do some data entry and she deleted my short cut to the internet saying, "Oh, you won't be needing thissssss...." It was all very slow-motion and traumatic. Ha ha. But not really. It's quite empowering to be the sole money maker.

JuliaA, I promise I'll be setting up a meeting with you in the not so far future. I'm still in that settling in phase. In fact, I was able to walk to that bar where we met up with Kenan and Jaymc and Jessa (though it was quite a longer walk than I had imagined).

Luna, I just watched Down with Love again, which takes place in New York, but the beautiful summer's day fireplace made me think of California.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 02:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, Chris, please stay. I'm saying this selfishly of course because you make me laugh.

I didn't realize that you were starting work already, Sarah! I hope your boss leaves you some space once you've adjusted so you can grace us with your presence.

I just got an email about being past due on my phone bill, with threats to disconnect and everything. Past due amount: $3.00. Once I got past the panic of contemplating disconnection, I had to laugh.
I need to get my silly inattentive brane together, I am far too frequently confusedly messing up on things and then getting threatening notices.

JuliaA (j_bdules), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 02:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh I also forgot to mention that I got the Petrified Forest CD, which is sweet but which I've only listened to once. I like how Chris's artwork came out!

Down With Love was on the plane out to NYC, and it wasn't my kind of movie -- it was really painfully predictable -- but I am a curmedgeon who doesn't like movies so don't mind me. They played Johnny English on the way back -- you know, "Rowan Atkinson in Bond spoof"? -- and that looked dreadful.
