I actually mostly know Aubrey Plaza from her talk show interviews. she's very funny.

Her readings of thirst tweets are pretty funny also.

def did not realize Sweeney was famous, and did not get the impression from the Stones video that it starred a famous person. Unlike the Kristen Stewart video, which seemed to be written for Kristen Stewart or at least directed by someone with a sense of her persona.

from what I remember, one of the main things that helped boost Sydney Sweeney's profile was toxic shit on instagram and elsewhere where people were going on and on about her being ugly during the first season of Euphoria; I think she even posted a weepy video about it. There was also a pile on where people accused her of being a Trump supporter because there were some pictures of a family party where her grandfather was wearing a red hat. I don't know that it was ever confirmed that it was a MAGA hat.

Supposedly it was a red novelty hat worn by her mom that said “Make Sixty Great Again." Perhaps it was misinterpreted because there was someone also pictured in the background wearing a Blue Lives Matter shirt, and this was a "hoedown" themed party in Idaho. #context

yeah I mean her family probably sucks, no surprise there. but also, lots of people's families suck. anyway my overriding point in even starting this discussion was that instagram commenters are some of the worst people in the world.

The most surprising thing in this run of posts is that anyone is like 'oh yeah, right, the girl from that Rolling Stones video'. The fact that there's a contemporary Rolling Stones video that people are aware of and presumably went out of their way to watch makes me feel more out of touch than anything else under discussion.

I saw it because it was posted here, in the thread about the new album.

I don't think I have ever seen it, but I knew she was in it because I saw some promotion that was like, "the new rolling Stones video, featuring her!" And she was on the hood of a car? Or working at a car wash or something? Or on a billboard?

Curious how many people SNL approaches to host who say no. Mark Ruffalo recently told Marc Maron that he'd been asked at some point but turned it down because he's dyslexic, so reading cue cards terrifies him, and he doesn't memorize lines quickly either.
