A friend worked a celebrity/autograph event today or yesterday and said Pete Best was there.

Came here to note Ann Vernon, she was in a movie I watched last night (Shakedown, 1950.) James Redd mentioned her when she was 97. She just turned 100 in January.

Peggy Dow was also in that movie. She’ll be 96 on March 18th.

Also seems that whilst in the US or at least for that film she dropped the final ‘e’ in her first name so Ann Vernon instead of Anne Vernon.

Of course her real name was something entirely different

I was surprised when I found out that Robert Johnson's stepsister, Annye Anderson, is still alive (she put out a book about him in 2020). I would have guessed that everyone who knew him was long gone by now.

Not quite the thread title, but I was pleasantly surprised to see Leslie Uggams in a key role in American Fiction. I hadn't thought about her in decades--looking at her IMDB page, she's worked steadily, but I hadn't seen her in anything since The Cosby Show. She was someone I was aware of as a kid in the late '60s; my parents must have had an album or two around the house.
