stuff like this is so funny like if you were making some lil app for hundreds of users youd be embarrassed to put a weird design like that in there but there it is in one of the biggest sites in the world just cause of circumstances a decade+ ago

it's backward compatible and if they ever turn sms notifications back on it's legible (lol)

that should be musks next move going back to sms and 140 chars

i think twitter usernames are still limited to 15 chars because sms is limited to 160 chars and tweets used to be 140 + a couple of bytes for "RT ", etc.

I say yes, it's a perfectly adequate twitter substitute. user base is growing at a very fast base, for better or worse.

saw an ad with Travis Kelce in it which had 1000+ comments and I clicked it and it's just a bunch of blue checks calling him "Mr. Pfizer" and accusing him of aiding genocide (via vaccines, not the actual genocide going on right now). every time I go on this app now I immediately regret it

you can understand where they were coming from like i want to invest in the up until now extremely successful musk empire and i want to have a relationship with the man who built it, but this particular investment was obviously doomed from the start
