I kind of admire that Brooks just left the tweet up and didn’t comment

There's nothing to admire about it; he's a persistent dumbass whose only survival strategy is knowing that if he admits he's ever wrong about something the rest falls in a house of cards. For all the Obama-starry-eyed moves of his once, he's more exactly like Trump.

I'm absolutely buzzing on the idea that Brooks typed up a draft of a column that kicks off with this anecdote and then spins into his patented set of homilies and unsubstantiated condescending garbage, the plane lands, he checks his phone and just very quietly goes to his laptop and clicks "Close".... "Do Not Save"

"Blaze your glory" appears to be a repurposing of the phrase "a blaze of glory", which was originally embedded in the phrase "going out in a blaze of glory" and was meant to evoke the image of a violent death involving self-immolation. So, perhaps unconsciously, Elon kinda nailed it.
