there's an element to me of -not to defend this, pls understand - "this could be any club in the epl and beyond" and united while architects of their own handling of each have been also unfortunate

arsenal, city, spurs, everton all also have high profile players that have been corporately/strategically defended to pick a random term for sexual/domestic assault allegations and im only going from memory and recent memory at that

you could say football/epl has a problem, you could say corporate sport or corporate strategy has a problem and i think youd be closer to it than focusing on the utter fucking balls united have made around this issue ever since re-signing ronaldo (or should i bring giggs into it here even? not sure what the club treatment of that issue was)

by which i mean to say in my middle para that the media and legal structures that epl can buy seem to have protected those clubs to an insane degree but uniteds players have all gone unignorably viral or public where the other cases havent to the same extent (or mayb not with three separate cases, tbf)

Seems bizarre that there hasn’t been a move towards something similar to the MLB domestic violence policy that takes some of the decisions out of the hands of the clubs, enables sanctions in the absence of criminal convictions and has an education/ training / psychological intervention element for all players as a preventative measure.

That doesn't seem bizarre to me at all tbh.
