The “.75” in your total leads me to think you paid with a credit card. At small bars, cash is king

You'd think so.. but this place had a sign saying they preferred credit cards, and if you pay by cash, NO COINS ALLOWED

Here in WI if you pay with a card, a 3-ish% surcharge is often added. That is, if they accept cards at all.

Just got a $1 lifetime membership at the local bowls club at the end of my street (1 minute). Never been a bar person, but the basically half price (compared to your fancy bars) schooners are tempting me to hang out with the geriatrics….. Could be fun?

Four big lawn bowls squares branching out with a bar in the middle of it all. Entertainment includes: old rockers playing credence covers, pokie machines, meat raffle giveaways, trivia, cheap lunch meals, very cheep beers. It’s an Aussie institution.

It’s very classic. I did not grow up with them at all, yet walking into one for the first time last year it felt like a warm hug? It’s a simple ol’ institution. My wife and I are going to do some barefoot bowls next Friday night with some friends, really looking forward to it

There is a bowls club in my town and they've recently discovered social media, so there are lots of posts in my local FB group about trying a cool new sport!!

One of my worst memories ever was laughing at a bowls club poster when in middle school, and then turning around to see the bloke from the club who had put them up and been trying to promote it to the school, stand there dejected. Maybe I’m just making up for my sins with this new fad
