Independent voters, notably, said they support prosecuting Trump for the alleged federal crimes in question by a margin of 20 points: 57 percent said they support and 37 percent said they do not.

this last bit is pretty notable, since it was Independents that really delivered him in 2016

I keep seeing clips of Republican dickweeds saying shit like "we have 10x the evidence of Biden's corruption than they have of even made-up Trump evidence," or "we are this close to getting rid of the Deep State" or exonerating Trump or whatever bullshit. But they never produce the evidence. Because of course there is none, or it's the same invented, refuted bullshit presented in a different order.

Using the successful formula of social media clickbait (big juicy dramatic headlines based on something flimsy or misconstrued) to keep supporters hooked and confuse general consensus through the magic of relentless "well I thought I heard" surface level perception manipulation.

It's effective too, at least with sympathetic audiences. A whole lot of people who only get information from right-wing media now firmly believe that there is strong irrefutable proof of the Biden Crime Family's misdeeds, and that the lack of prosecution for it is entirely a function of the Deep State.

If you ask them what the evidence is, they'll just say things like, "It's everywhere! You can look it up!" And if you knock down any given talking point, they just cycle to another.

After all this time, all they really have is an email that mentions "the big guy."
