Wait weren’t we supposed to get a very CONCLUSIVE and EXONERATING report from Trump today? Did I miss something?
― tobo73, Wednesday, 16 August 2023 19:59 (two years ago)
I think that's Monday
― Muad'Doob (Moodles), Wednesday, 16 August 2023 19:59 (two years ago)
Somewhere somebody is assembling that report right now, I'm sure it's going great.

one reason the report is good is because it's very long

Also Monday is the best day for truth

Are there any betting pools set up for people to wager on what he will actually say/do on Monday?
― henry s, Wednesday, 16 August 2023 20:15 (two years ago)
i bet $15 he will say something that will later be used as evidence in one of the four different cases

The national Quinnipiac University poll showed 54 percent of Americans said Trump should be face federal criminal charges, while 42 percent said he should not be prosecuted for those alleged crimes.
Independent voters, notably, said they support prosecuting Trump for the alleged federal crimes in question by a margin of 20 points: 57 percent said they support and 37 percent said they do not.
this last bit is pretty notable, since it was Independents that really delivered him in 2016

Aw
BREAKING: Former Pres. Trump's promised press conference to refute the allegations in the indictment handed up by the Fulton County DA's Office is now very much in doubt, multiple sources familiar with the matter tell @ABC News. https://t.co/IlLLZYrqht— ABC News (@ABC) August 17, 2023
Anyway, these assholes are always so full of shit. I keep seeing clips of Republican dickweeds saying shit like "we have 10x the evidence of Biden's corruption than they have of even made-up Trump evidence," or "we are this close to getting rid of the Deep State" or exonerating Trump or whatever bullshit. But they never produce the evidence. Because of course there is none, or it's the same invented, refuted bullshit presented in a different order.

Using the successful formula of social media clickbait (big juicy dramatic headlines based on something flimsy or misconstrued) to keep supporters hooked and confuse general consensus through the magic of relentless "well I thought I heard" surface level perception manipulation.
― But his face would not turn into hot Kirby (Evan), Thursday, 17 August 2023 15:22 (two years ago)
It's effective too, at least with sympathetic audiences. A whole lot of people who only get information from right-wing media now firmly believe that there is strong irrefutable proof of the Biden Crime Family's misdeeds, and that the lack of prosecution for it is entirely a function of the Deep State.
― a man often referred to in the news media as the Duke of Saxony (tipsy mothra), Thursday, 17 August 2023 15:26 (two years ago)
If you ask them what the evidence is, they'll just say things like, "It's everywhere! You can look it up!" And if you knock down any given talking point, they just cycle to another.

Yeah, that's what the GOP doesn't seem to understand about the left--we don't have a cult-like attachment to people like Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, etc.

i'd bet anything this is the same deal, Trump just said it and expected his folks to make it happen, except now all his folks are probably indicted too so they can't

In the call, Ms Shry allegedly told the judge, who is overseeing an election conspiracy case against Mr Trump: "You are in our sights, we want to kill you."
Prosecutors say Ms Shry added: "If Trump doesn't get elected in 2024, we are coming to kill you."
This woman is probably just a harmless crazy, but this last line probably rings true for many Trump stans - he'd BETTER win or else, democracy be damned
