An eagle-eyed Reuters journalist spotted this document -- which lists Trump as the defendant in multiple felony counts -- on the Fulton County, GA, court website. 13 charges against him, including RICO! that DA isn't messing around. ofc, jury selection will be Urgent & Key now. all it takes is one goddamn ringer to hang a jury.

Breaking: Former Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan and independent journalist George Chidi were both supposed to testify on Tuesday, but are now expected to meet on Monday with grand jurors at the Fulton County Courthouse https://t.co/YBYU2c32EQ with @bluestein— Tamar Hallerman (@TamarHallerman) August 14, 2023

Can he make a plea bargain to have all charges dropped in exchange for halting his presidential campaign and exiting the public sphere altogether forever, with the caveat that if he breaks his word (which he inevitably will, probably within <24 hours) he will immediately be jailed for life? I would be good with that. In fact I think that's the preferable option (saving time and money on a trial that isn't likely to result in criminal charges or prevent him from becoming president again). Someone get me on the horn with the Fulton Co. DA.

Can he make a plea bargain to have all charges dropped in exchange for halting his presidential campaign/
He would never do this imo, because his entire argument is that he's done nothing wrong and Dems are bringing these trials solely to disrupt his campaign.

I prefer these trials happen after the election, because I want him to be rejected by the voters and lose again (please). It will cause more harm to his ego and image, plus he still gets to face four trials immediately. Then after he is found guilty at all four trials, I would prefer he die in a completely embarrassing, public, and self-inflicted way.

Could Trump be denied bail in Georgia? Their laws on these things are somewhat more...Southern than those of the courts in which he's previously been indicted.
Weissmann: let me give you the exact words because this is the provision that the court has to find to release someone on bail in Georgia which is that the defendant poses no risk of intimidating witnesses, or otherwise obstructing the administration of justice. pic.twitter.com/UbAxKZTGN7— Acyn (@Acyn) August 14, 2023

From a quarter-hour back via NYT
Judge McBurney appears again in the courtroom and tells reporters, “You didn’t go get dinner, you should have gotten dinner.” (No argument here.) Then he turns to two deputies in the courtroom and says, “There’s really only one other thing that’s going to happen today.” Asked if that means that an indictment is coming tonight, he cryptically says: “I guess you’ll have to wait and see.”
― Ned Raggett, Monday, 14 August 2023 21:41 (two years ago)
Could Trump be denied bail in Georgia?
First question in my mind would be whether the prosecutor specifically asks the court for denial of bail, which would take levels of chutzpah rarely observed in nature. Only then would I consider the exact wording of GA law.
