I was listening to a Peter Tosh album, Mama Africa, and lo, there is a song called Maga Dog. According to the liner notes, a maga dog is a rough, stray dog that you take in and feed but it will turn around and bite the shit out of you. Seems appropriate.

The lyrics seem to be about a woman, so a rough girl from the streets that the narrator takes care of but she keeps going back to her rough ways.

I can't find many references to the phrase outside of the song, but one website says maga=mongrel.

not really thread relevant, but I would have assumed "maga" = "mawga" which means thin or skinny in Jamaican English (supposedly derived from "meagre" though "maigre" means thin in French, though obviously they're related)

Saw a good passing analysis of this case that pointed out that whether or not Trump believed his own lies is irrelevant, because it is not illegal to lie, it is not illegal to believe crazy shit or make stuff up, but it is illegal to, say, push forward an alternate set of electors or schemes like that. Everyone is entitled to their own truth, however bonkers, but not entitled to break the law in support of their own truth.

Yeah sorry if this is not well understood but the time alone consumed by being in multiple parallel and overlapping criminal and civil proceedings is significant. Trump has to be in DC, Florida, various court appearances at various times. And with that depositions, prep, etc.

Even bullshit lawsuits take up time to defend and these are not bullshit. Using up the only non-renewable resource a person has (time) is definitely something happening.
