Hilariously, turned out she was posing for photos at a Pride event here in town yesterday; someone I knew went and said she was cool. I was a couple of blocks away at one point, shoulda gone over!

Conclusion of Drag Race España was pretty nice, good winner. Drag Race México got off to a solid enough start last week, Valentina and Lolita make for a fine cohost team; also given Valentina's gender identification it makes for a change-up in terms of how a host presents in the workroom (Lolita goes boy there as per most every other host). And given Nicky's surely not-coincidentally timed appearance on All-Stars here, a reminder we have France kicking in season 2 in a few days.

Truly! A good way to end the season even if fairly well telegraphed. But pretty great Lala got the Fame Games cash!

Read the oral history of the show the other week -- essential stuff for all the further stories and memories, honestly. It is of course done with the participation of all the production crew and there's obviously quite a bit they won't or don't say, but we get more of a peek behind the curtain. Still, notable who does NOT turn up in the interviews, though they are often mentioned -- Delta, Sharon, Phi Phi, Willam, the Vixen, Naomi too I think, among others. Willam allegedly will be starting a 'book report' on it on Hot Goss this week so I'm sure we're going to get more thoughts, as it were.

Both Mexico and France have been solid watches so far and we have Down Under and Philippines back in the next couple of weeks, and supposedly the first Spanish All Stars en route too.

(In case you're wondering how Plasma has the money for that: descendant of a Texas political dynasty on the GOP side, but her lobbyist dad apparently flooded the zone against the Texas anti-drag regulation and helped in the lawsuit getting it stopped, so even if it's Senator Rob Portman on gay marriage energy I'll take something over nothing.)

I’m still watching US, UK, Canada, France, All Stars, and Vs. The World. I enjoy most of it, but am not as excited as I used to be when it would be on once a year. I’ve been watching since the first season, and everything after Season 9 has become somewhat of a big blur.
The current season is pretty good, but I wish they would get rid of Snatch Game.

i thought plain jane was almost timid in snatch game?
like she wasn’t sure if her jokes were landing? she could’ve killed it.

i realized i liked this season’s queens more as a group than individuals, the banter, the teasing, they all seem to love each other
either of the three will be an ok winner but i donno, certain star quality is missing

the lipsync lollapalooza ep was such a sudden reminder why this show used to be great, absolutely loved it.

Yeah that was a treat! Plane still bugs but I have a feeling either Sapphira or Nymphia has this so I’m content.

nymphia is getting an arc, so a likely candidate, but we haven’t seen her lipsync yet..

Well that answered that question! She put on a SHOW. Sapphira was great but really, no contest. (And gloriously, no Plane in the top two.)

I am. I'm really impressed by how much Plastique has grown personally and has come back to show she's more than a pretty face. I still love Angeria and Gottmik.
The judging is bad, as has been the case for the last 5 years or so.

Wow you really watch it all ! I've only seen parts of France this time, and what I saw was very good. Nicky has really turned into a great host.

I'm debating which "world series" I'll watch, but it will probably end up being both.

I’m watching All Stars - Plastique is amazing, really enjoying Shannel slowly coming into her own again, and this last round of Roxxy lipsyncs were v enjoyable.

I like the IDEA of Nina West but her tastes costume-wise are really not for me.

i will watch the World Allstars - everything else is on WowPlus which I don’t have, but i’m ok missing out bc it’s honestly TOO MANY SHOWS lol

For someone I never liked before, Roxxy has really grown on me this season. It's fun to see both her and Shannel learn to just not take it all so seriously.

I feel like they tried their hardest to get Shannel to break like she did on season one to get good tv by not giving her any badges until the very end. Good for her for not going there and taking it with a grain of salt.

agree that felt like trying to get Shannel to break - think Kim Chi was saying on Pit Stop she was hoping for that to happen and to give us a season 1 "i am beautiful' moment

I still do not get Roxxy - felt lilke her 'kinder, gentler' Roxxy was very much for camera and her aesthetic is - too me - highly competent but neither fun nor exciting. she has done well in lip-syncs, but she's had enuf practice at 'em, and as Bianca said if you do it right the first time you don't have to do 'em. that said her lil lunge in the diana ross lipsync cracked me up.

Plastique on the other hand, from her first season to now, has absolutely blown me away in her design/construction and make up skills!

Her willingness to let herself be stupid and ugly in front of the camera is a big change this time round too. Like, in the workroom she's always pretty funny, but now she's being the kind of funny Ru likes to see as well. (Which is loud, and with freckles drawn on.)

My only complaint about Plastique is that sometimes her runway looks bear no resemblance to the category, but this is a very minor complaint.

Yeah, that was especially true on the widow runway. But damn, her looks have been impressive. Especially the ones she created there !

Plastique is absolutely amazing (the star cloak but also the cherry blossom painted dress, omg) but is still missing some gravitas (which you can really see in her lipsyncs - she's good technically but she's not great at channeling a character)

it's actually Vanjie i'm most impressed with - hey runways seem to be on another level now - and she's still funny as hell

plastique looks great and makes/wears great clothes, but she appears to have suffered a charismectomy or something

i don't dislike gottmikk, but i feel similarly about her- she has great style (and clearly a lot of money) but like, cant lipsync or be interesting aside from creating amazing looks??

also re: people talking about roxxy's "polish": maybe she could polish that godawful makeup imo!!
