How much do we want to bet that Lordy, there are tapes for every single crime committed by this goblin?

DeSantis busy trying to figure out how he can get indicted too. He’s ceding the whole “martyr” space right now.

I guess he could brag about how many laws he’s signed that have been found unconstitutional, that’s kind of like being persecuted by the Biden Crime Family.

"This is secret information. Look, look at this." is some Rick James shit. "See, I never just did things just to do them. Come on, what am I gonna do? Just all of a sudden jump up and wave around secret documents? Come on. I got a little more sense than that...Yeah, I remember jumping up and waving around secret documents.”
― Josh in Chicago, Friday, 9 June 2023 13:26 (three years ago)
“Secret. This is secret information. Look, look at this,” Trump says at one point, according to the transcript. “This was done by the military and given to me.”
Legitimately extraordinary

The US establishment hated and feared Trump from the start, largely due to the instability he poses to its hegemony. CIA/FBI concocted a bullshit scandal to sink his campaign and presidency, and now are desperately trying to make him ineligible.Look to Brazil for how it works. pic.twitter.com/5LV5K7f8hg— Glenn Greenwald (@ggreenwald) June 9, 2023

"If the case is being overseen by the same district and magistrate judges, that means the court likely considered the indictment to be 'related' to the search warrant and intentionally assigned it to those judges," former senior Justice Department national security official Brandon Van Grack told ABC News.

1/Before everyone gets too spun up about reports Judge Cannon has been assigned to the Trump case, a little law. I used to be an appellate chief in the 11th Circuit (where Florida is) and I litigated a few appeals where we asked the court of appeals to order a judge to recuse.— Joyce Alene (@JoyceWhiteVance) June 9, 2023
― Josh in Chicago, Friday, 9 June 2023 15:18 (three years ago)
Worth noting in that first piece about it that the magistrate judge who was also involved (and was very much not judging like Cannon) is named as well -- as the quoted fellow noted, this all seems like essentially procedure, and almost certainly was factored in to the decision to indict in Florida rather than DC -- which itself removes the prospect of an extended venue fight.
― Ned Raggett, Friday, 9 June 2023 15:20 (three years ago)
The other thing I'll note is that there's already been quite a few hints and suggestions others are going to be charged as well in this, which would make sense.
― Ned Raggett, Friday, 9 June 2023 15:21 (three years ago)
Breaking: Jim Trusty and John ROWLEY have RESIGNED from Trump’s team, saying in a joint statement they tendered their resignations this morning. Trusty was just on CNN last night defending Trump and detailing charges against him.— Kaitlan Collins (@kaitlancollins) June 9, 2023

― serving bundt (sic), Friday, 9 June 2023 15:49 (three years ago)
my understanding is this was moved to Florida as most of the events in question happened there, which means it will be harder to challenge the venue and slow down the entire process
― Muad'Doob (Moodles), Friday, 9 June 2023 15:51 (three years ago)
Also worth noting that it was the grand jury IN Florida that signed off on the indictments, so.

Breaking: Trump announces on Truth Social that Todd Blanche will be his criminal defense attorney in the Mar-a-Lago docs case with another firm yet to be named. Jim Trusty and John Rowley are out.— Hugo Lowell (@hugolowell) June 9, 2023
Per ppl familiar: Blanche — also the attorney for Trump adviser and in-house counsel Boris Epshteyn — for several weeks has been seen by Trump advisers as the “head honcho” of the legal team in the docs case.— Hugo Lowell (@hugolowell) June 9, 2023

Rowley and Trusty issue joint statement saying they won’t be making media appearances discussing their departure, a clear shot at Tim Parlatore, who appeared on CNN and blamed Boris Epshteyn for why he left.— Maggie Haberman (@maggieNYT) June 9, 2023
Slightly relatedly, though, it was Parlatore who pretty much said Boris Epshteyn as gatekeeper was a big problem for trying to get Trump to understand what he was dealing with. So when you've got the attorney for that guy as your own attorney, well, roffle.
