i feel this way. but that's just age. it happens to the best of us. it is true that hollywood is a dire pit of horrible and the rest of the world is in some sort of insane renaissance of film and t.v.-making though. i still haven't seen midsommar and everythingeverywhere because i am a child and hate when people tell me i have to see something. i am happy with castle and chopped reruns and all the other dumb stuff i rot my brain with. i thought that was supposed to be the cool thing about the internet and streaming. doesn't matter when you watch something. YES i will watch the last of us eventually leave me alone! you know? i finally watched martyrs. i waited 15 years.

(succession talk reminds me of people raving about the west wing and me hating the west wing. but i didn't hate succession. i watched the first two seasons. feel like that was enough. unperson brings up deadwood and i have never made it all the way through. for the record, i hated nypd blue. bochco/milch were no homicide/wire. they were corny as fuck. like M.A.S.H. was their fave t.v. show or something. hill street blues totally reminded me of M.A.S.H. when it was on t.v. i am a huge fan of Hell On Wheels though. i might actually re-watch the whole thing.)

Most Mandela-Effect stuff is just people being wrong. The more suggestible you are, the more likely you are to nod in agreement when someone in your social orbit with a strong personality says something. They're just wrong, but they say it with conviction so you don't question it.

People were wrong about stuff way before it had a meme-y name.

THAT SAID, I am also susceptible to harboring wistful fantasies about alternate universes. We will never be able to completely prove a negative, so the information landscape would seem to permit speculation. Perhaps some of us accidentally slipped through the veil from a universe where things are slightly different.
