Um
In what would represent an uber-dramatic twist, Cox will also float the notion to Rajan that Logan could still be alive. “If you think about it, from Logan’s point of view, he has to find out, how are his children going to behave when he dies, what will then happen? And the only way to do that is to fake his death and actually, at some distant point he’s observing the chaos that is following.”

It was surprising seeing him go from the election episode, where he is taking charge, to “Church and State,” where he goes up to give his father’s eulogy and his facade crumbles. How did you find out about Roman’s breakdown? This was the only season where I indulged Jesse in letting him tell me what was going to happen with Roman. In the past, I liked not knowing [until getting the script]. I’m not sure why, but I wanted to know more this year. He mentioned that [scene] early, and I wasn’t sure if it was a full breakdown, but he basically said, “You get positioned to be the guy, and you shoot yourself in the foot by just being a human being.”

James started Rawkus out of his dorm room (just like Rick Rubin !!!!¡one), Ken probably got $750k funding for a group blog that ran nine posts by Bol and one by BIG GHOST before they figured out the frontend was so flash-intensive that only three advertising agencies on any given continent could read it

just saw an interview with Brian Cox and he mentioned something I feel dumb for not realizing, he said the season takes place over 10 days making each episode one day.
― (•̪●) (carne asada), Friday, 26 May 2023 14:03 (three years ago)
Wow, I hadn't noticed that. I did notice that every episode is like a set piece, with the characters locked in with each other somewhere - a retreat, a wedding, a funeral, a board meeting, a party, an investor event etc. - all the inbetween buildup is either dispensed with or summarised and we're left with the moments of highest possible tension
― Tracer Hand, Friday, 26 May 2023 14:16 (three years ago)
what a crazy week and a half that would be. no wonder Tom is so tired
― symsymsym, Friday, 26 May 2023 14:20 (three years ago)
this conversation is doomed to repeat itself itt forever or at least until the show ends but i do care about what happens to the roy siblings, and the only happy ending for me would be if they all just do something else instead of deepening their dadtrauma by vying for control over the stupid company. idk is this sympathy? roman is my favorite character btw and him being a fascist steamroller in the election episode did not dim my love of him one bit

I realized every episode was a single day, and obviously not that much time can go by between death and funeral... but I still didn't necessarily think they were all in a row. (Would a presidential candidate - even one clearly losing - hold his wedding only a week before the election??)
― sctttnnnt (pgwp), Friday, 26 May 2023 16:26 (three years ago)
I thought the whole idea of the big public wedding was politically motivated?
― Random Restaurateur (Jordan), Friday, 26 May 2023 16:28 (three years ago)
(not saying it was a good idea, but wasn't Connor trying to talk Willa into having the big expensive wedding because it would make him look more electable, get some media exposure, etc?)

― Tracer Hand, Friday, 26 May 2023 17:31 (three years ago)
I knew each ep was a day but they all back to back?eps 4,5,6,7 seems esp tightep 4 - the wakeep 5 - they are in Norway (roughly 7 hour flight)ep 6 - they are in LA (11 hour flight from Norway to LA)EP 7 - Tailgate party back in NYC
ep 8 - election day, then funeral in 9 -
even with private jets seems tight with time spent in each location - someone should be handing out speed to all of 'emi had a problem with them scheduling the funeral for the day after the election, would have figured they'd wait a cpl of days even to plan properly but guess we're supposed to accept for the sake of the drama
― H in Addis, Friday, 26 May 2023 17:32 (three years ago)

It was about 2008 and I was on location for the filming of Peep Show, the UK sitcom my longtime writing partner Sam Bain and I wrote together. Between that show and my work on The Thick of It and In the Loop, and a bunch of other things, I was feeling overcommitted.

I nominate Super Hans to win Succession!
One precarious thing is that Rupert Murdoch is still somehow alive and his actual death and succession drama could make this series look like hagiography.
I guess we'll find out when Rupert Murdoch dies this weekend.

Remembering now how no one guessed the last Sopranos episode would have a 20-minute new AJ subplot of no big significance.
Main thing in this last-episode promo image is that it looks like the city's full of smoke or tear gas. And the 'Max' logo at the bottom is its own succession joke.

Kendall couldn’t just keep his mouth shut and give her a moment. Can’t escape who you are.
Shiv and Tom finding the only way to do love in this manic world right at the end is a top payoff to this series. The Roy family could never do it, could never sacrifice for one another because the trauma is too deeply ingrained. Great finale
― hrep (H.P), Monday, 29 May 2023 02:36 (three years ago)
