Where do I subscribe to ILX blue so I can delete my post.

lol musk is freaking out he just emails some random npr reporter to threaten the org

you have to because emailing pr✧✧✧@n✧✧.o✧✧ just autoreplies with the news emoji

damn it I failed the reference

mh, Wednesday, 3 May 2023 14:12 (three years ago)

Musk's behavior is very confusing. He spends most of his time wearing a 'LUV 2 DROWN' t-shirt and gleefully drilling holes in his boat but also frantically scooping out bucketfuls of water on occasion. Like, just let it sink, bruh. Your fans will continue to fellate you all the way to the ocean floor, enjoy the ride.

Beautiful Bean Footage Fetishist (Old Lunch), Wednesday, 3 May 2023 15:20 (three years ago)

i have to say from experience that sucking dick underwater is rather difficult, the Musk-lovers have their work cut out for them

To me his behavior looks a lot like an addict trying to find his bottom (as in low point, not as in partner of ‘top’).

recovering internet addict/shitposter (viborg), Wednesday, 3 May 2023 23:57 (three years ago)

As the joke goes, he should stop digging. Or at least stop tweeting.

Andrew Farrell, Thursday, 4 May 2023 12:12 (three years ago)

works for me but just logging in I realized I haven't really visited Twitter in a while. I think it's still really good for real-time NBA updates but it's no good for anything else anymore. looked through the stuff I RT'd a few months ago and a lot of those people have just went inactive.

frogbs, Thursday, 4 May 2023 15:37 (three years ago)

remembrer that house judiciary tweet, "elon. kanye. trump." (or whatever order it was)?

it was up for so long, for months. i just noticed they finally deleted it

z_tbd, Thursday, 4 May 2023 15:47 (three years ago)

They deleted the day Kanye was on the Alex Jones show

INDEPENDENTS DAY BY STEVEN SPILBERG (President Keyes), Thursday, 4 May 2023 15:48 (three years ago)

deleted the tweet that is, not the day

INDEPENDENTS DAY BY STEVEN SPILBERG (President Keyes), Thursday, 4 May 2023 15:49 (three years ago)

i do believe in the idea of deleted days

Yeah, I got sucked back into Twitter a couple of months ago, and my feed is definitely not the same as it once was. It's quieter, less interesting. Even during the peak Trump-era hellsite years, it felt vital in a way that it really doesn't anymore.

jaymc, Thursday, 4 May 2023 17:34 (three years ago)

I feel like the Blue check comments always being at the top is causing some reactions

WHAT IS GOING ON YOU PEOPLE SOUND LIKE MONSTERS MY GOD https://t.co/FZW9lT4jUs

— Chris Hayes (@chrislhayes) May 4, 2023

INDEPENDENTS DAY BY STEVEN SPILBERG (President Keyes), Thursday, 4 May 2023 17:47 (three years ago)

I think with most social media sites you spend a while curating your feed and trying to add as many interesting people as possible, but then it gets to the point where it doesn't even cross your mind to add new people. I think that's where Twitter is at for a lot of people. which is a real problem if folks are actively leaving

frogbs, Thursday, 4 May 2023 17:48 (three years ago)

That's a good point. I've only followed a very small handful of people over the last few years. There's definitely a sense of stagnation when much of what you see is the people you've been following for years, who are tweeting about the same stuff as always and apparently have no plans to leave.

jaymc, Thursday, 4 May 2023 19:08 (three years ago)

So can we start a bluesky invites chain or what

(mostly I'm just curious tbh)

Random Restaurateur (Jordan), Friday, 5 May 2023 15:48 (three years ago)

I heard someone pronounce it like "Bluski"

If that is the actual pronunciation then no thanks

INDEPENDENTS DAY BY STEVEN SPILBERG (President Keyes), Friday, 5 May 2023 15:49 (three years ago)

Three syllables -- 'bl' - 'uesk' - 'y'

Ned Raggett, Friday, 5 May 2023 15:51 (three years ago)

xpost - tbh I vastly prefer that pronunciation

I hear the A-ha song in my head each time xp

Vinnie, Friday, 5 May 2023 16:08 (three years ago)

Yeah I've been watching a lot of typically very left people in my orbit just turn into raging maniacs about "crime! crime! crime!" and "somethin' oughta be done!" lately. Shit I expect to hear from my central Illinois relatives who have always been afraid of "the big city" is now being spouted by lifelong Chicagoans. It's weird and unsettling.

Maxmillion D. Boosted (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Friday, 5 May 2023 16:10 (three years ago)

goldfish like memories

treeship., Friday, 5 May 2023 16:23 (three years ago)

in this case though, it's not even about people taking a narrow view of crime that doesn't connect it to other systemic issues.

what we are seeing is people either making excuses for or even celebrating the cold blooded murder of a mentally ill homeless man.

treeship., Friday, 5 May 2023 16:26 (three years ago)

oh yeah, the reactions to this case have been horrifying and disgusting, but it seems to be tying into a larger national mood right now where an alarming number of people seem to think every urban center is now a crime ridden cesspool

Maxmillion D. Boosted (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Friday, 5 May 2023 16:30 (three years ago)

a lot of people just repeat what the people around them are saying. i wonder if any of the people you are hearing were ACAB types in 2020.

treeship., Friday, 5 May 2023 16:40 (three years ago)

That is part of what is alarming and surreal about the subway killing. At a different moment, I could see people rallying around the victim and demanding justice, as happened for so many black victims of white policing or vigilantism in recent years. But for some reason that response — while it exists — is muted now and liberal politicians are making these ambivalent statements about not rushing to judgmebt.

treeship., Friday, 5 May 2023 16:45 (three years ago)

treesy otm

Cthulhu Diamond Phillips (Neanderthal), Friday, 5 May 2023 16:58 (three years ago)

I know there’s a NY thread somewhere but I have to say that the both sidesism in the blatant vigilante murder of a homeless individual on the Subway has got me fucking furious. All the news coverage does is confirm that the US hates poor people, disdains those with mental illnesses, and wishes death upon those populations.

I was waiting to hear where this marine was from. Was he a new yorker? A tourist? Apparently he's from West Islip. Long Island. Which makes me think, as I often do, of the article I read some time ago talking about how the people who are the most scared of the city are those who live close to it but not in it. The slightly further out suburbs.

dan selzer, Friday, 5 May 2023 17:35 (three years ago)

People are cheering this on and no one's even said what this guy supposedly *did* beyond being loud, "menacing"(??) and throwing a jacket.

young sussy (Whiney G. Weingarten), Friday, 5 May 2023 17:52 (three years ago)

Like what are you exactly cheering for if there's no discernable motive for someone to strangle a man to death beyond making a subway ride uncomfortable

young sussy (Whiney G. Weingarten), Friday, 5 May 2023 17:55 (three years ago)

Like at least Bernie Goetz fans went through the motions of pretending he was being robbed. This is just like straight up "Someday, a real rain will come and wash all this scum off the streets."

young sussy (Whiney G. Weingarten), Friday, 5 May 2023 17:56 (three years ago)

The whole thing hurts my heart like nothing I can remember in recent memory
