I don't feel like "princess" would be a reference Frank would make re Kendall.

agreed, i have amended my stance on the princess/princes situation, see above

lag∞n, Monday, 17 April 2023 23:59 (three years ago)

Already said this but after last weeks great episode and then this week which was equally masterful—and lol a bottle episode—I have high hopes for the ending, feel like it’s gonna be perfect and make sense tho I have no idea what’s gonna happen

a (waterface), Tuesday, 18 April 2023 00:00 (three years ago)

Yeah Kendall’s almost gotta get his comeuppance via the dead waiter

a (waterface), Tuesday, 18 April 2023 00:02 (three years ago)

idk the show is pretty clear on plebs not mattering

lag∞n, Tuesday, 18 April 2023 00:05 (three years ago)

"no real person involved" iirc

Clay, Tuesday, 18 April 2023 00:15 (three years ago)

right, and i trust theyll stick to that because theyre british

lag∞n, Tuesday, 18 April 2023 00:17 (three years ago)

Doctor says something about "our journey" to Shiv which makes me think it might be donor sperm not Tom

Zelda Zonk, Tuesday, 18 April 2023 00:43 (three years ago)

it’s a 20 week checkin with the doctor so shiv is pretty far along, imo! far enough for aling it to be feasible that it IS tom’s, circa pre-tuscan betrayal imo

would love it if kerry turns out to be preggo too

werewolves of laudanum (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 18 April 2023 01:17 (three years ago)

far enough *along for* it

werewolves of laudanum (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 18 April 2023 01:18 (three years ago)

Also Shiv's falling on the stairs for no good reason. Could it be foreshadowing a miscarriage

Zelda Zonk, Tuesday, 18 April 2023 01:43 (three years ago)

i feel like that was more to show how flustered & in her feelings she was about ken & rom as co-ceo’s

like we know, but they really want us to know

werewolves of laudanum (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 18 April 2023 01:52 (three years ago)

I heard "princess" as well, so I was expecting Shiv to be on the paper.

change display name (Jordan), Tuesday, 18 April 2023 02:03 (three years ago)

same

dan selzer, Tuesday, 18 April 2023 02:12 (three years ago)

and I def don't buy Frank referring to Ken as "princess"

dan selzer, Tuesday, 18 April 2023 02:12 (three years ago)

What “bad stuff on dad” was ken talking to Hugo about at the end?

calstars, Tuesday, 18 April 2023 02:15 (three years ago)

What “bad stuff on dad” was ken talking to Hugo about at the end?

― calstars, Tuesday, April 18, 2023 bookmarkflaglink

I think he was just referring to the option Hugo had just laid out for the kids which they rejected. Like that Logan was becoming incompetent etc

sctttnnnt (pgwp), Tuesday, 18 April 2023 02:23 (three years ago)

Karl uses the word "princess" iirc? Could be wrong. That also led directly into a vent about Gerri blocking him and him wanting out with his financial package and going to that island investment.

omar little, Tuesday, 18 April 2023 02:26 (three years ago)

i watched it again and it does sound like princes the captioning says princess tho

lag∞n, Tuesday, 18 April 2023 02:27 (three years ago)

The Princess Diaries

Critique of the Goth Programme (Neil S), Tuesday, 18 April 2023 08:12 (three years ago)

i found last night's ep p excruciating, not in a bad way, but even though these characters are mostly amoral heels it is kind of painful to watch them selfishly and ineptly wander into oblivion. greg's running commentary of kerry's arrival at the house was gruelling - felt p sorry for kerry, tho obviously marcia's twisting of the knife was, i guess, justified, at least in her eyes. the ending is going to be super-bleak, isn't it?

dicbo=v2-ubswizzb&hrt (stevie), Tuesday, 18 April 2023 08:18 (three years ago)

I enjoyed this fine, last week tough to follow. But also found myself feeling that ending it with S4 was a good call. Some of the dynamics felt a bit familiar (although I feel this show will have at least one epic rug-pull lined up before the finale).

meat and two vdgg (emsworth), Tuesday, 18 April 2023 11:03 (three years ago)

Yeah definitely. I mean, they've not even been joint CEOs for more than 10 minutes and Kendall's already going behind Roman's back with the Bad Dad thing

groovypanda, Tuesday, 18 April 2023 11:22 (three years ago)

Jeremy Strong is so great

Hugo's own smile in response to that like he was almost enjoying Kendall's ability to act like his Dad.

nashwan, Tuesday, 18 April 2023 11:33 (three years ago)

He's so great. I get really fed up with the pieces about him that ridicule his method, etc - the results are stunning. I like people who commit to what they do, and his excessive efforts absolutely pay off with this performance.

dicbo=v2-ubswizzb&hrt (stevie), Tuesday, 18 April 2023 12:03 (three years ago)

eh i guess it's like if you work with someone who does good work, that's cool but he's probably a lot to deal with even for an actor. yeah he's top notch for sure but so is brian cox & kiernan and sarah shook and alan ruck by all accounts none of them pull that kind of diva stuff

a (waterface), Tuesday, 18 April 2023 12:08 (three years ago)

That smile (at his dad’s wake!) says it all

true confessions: I can’t separate Hugo from Mike McClintock

poster of sparks (rogermexico.), Tuesday, 18 April 2023 12:25 (three years ago)

Hugo's head to neck ratio is astounding

dicbo=v2-ubswizzb&hrt (stevie), Tuesday, 18 April 2023 12:36 (three years ago)

like a particularly malevolent tortoise

Critique of the Goth Programme (Neil S), Tuesday, 18 April 2023 13:12 (three years ago)

He's come a long way from this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6TLYwelOPk

was involved with Michelle Pfieffer and executive produced the movie Blank City which I music supervised. And that's everything I know about him.

dan selzer, Tuesday, 18 April 2023 13:12 (three years ago)

enjoyed hugo's daughter's insider trading giving kendall leverage to put out the bad dad press release behind roman's back

also, pretty clear that marsha hosed connor on the sale of the apartment, right? no way that place would have gone for $63 million on the open market, is the sense i got

first half felt a little rote, like they were almost obligated to show everybody's claim to the throne, felt a little going through the motions. the mysterious piece of paper in logan's safe felt like a law school exam. episode got some juice going after that though

, Tuesday, 18 April 2023 13:24 (three years ago)

"i'm kidding, of course"

"no sure.. you're speculating in a comic mode"

"..in a humorous vein"

"mmhmm"

she got him good lol, the kids are marks

lag∞n, Tuesday, 18 April 2023 13:32 (three years ago)

Hugo has Rufus from Bill & Ted vibe, which suits the new ceos

Cinta Kaz is comin' to town (Sufjan Grafton), Tuesday, 18 April 2023 13:34 (three years ago)

various thoughts going way back up incl last episode

re shiv - she'd already told connor re pops not coming, think she actually says when kendall comes to get her that they owe her for that - just chatting with ppl on way back

think shiv's baby is pretty clearly Tom's - don't think they'd toss in another option here

kendall's capacity for self-destruction always amazing

always happy to see stewy and his interactions with kendall

re apartment sale - 63 million didnt seem high to me and a quick google search shows Architectural Digest thinks could have been more https://www.architecturaldigest.com/story/could-marcia-have-made-more-money-off-of-logans-apartment#:~:text=Above%20all%2C%20its%20location%20directly,during%20the%20show's%20first%20season.

I'd missed Marcia

H in Addis, Tuesday, 18 April 2023 13:40 (three years ago)

I think it's ambiguous in terms of her having told Connor yet, but when they get him in the room to tell him about Logan she says "Dad's on an airplane to Sweden, but they're coming back. We think he died. They...they think he died." I mean either way I guess she did tell him he wasn't coming to the wedding...

omar little, Tuesday, 18 April 2023 13:57 (three years ago)

I just kind of assumed that Marcia was happy to have a quick sale without dealing with bullshit, even if she didn't milk Connor for all she could. I mean it was probably also thrown in to underscore that she isn't their to mourn, she's there to make moves.

Maxmillion D. Boosted (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Tuesday, 18 April 2023 14:00 (three years ago)

Plus the place isn't even necessarily hers to sell (who knows yet what Logan pencilled about that) and she may have been well aware of this.

nashwan, Tuesday, 18 April 2023 14:03 (three years ago)

Greg and Tom spin-off in which they received nothing and are fired and have to live together as roommates

calstars, Tuesday, 18 April 2023 14:08 (three years ago)

the logan death episode was great and all but this ep was the real unadulterated succession shit

na (NA), Tuesday, 18 April 2023 14:08 (three years ago)

wait what's the gameplan there if it isn't hers to sell? connor hands her two big bags of money, she laughs victoriously and jumps out the window into a waiting helicopter? xp

, Tuesday, 18 April 2023 14:11 (three years ago)

so many amazing frank and karl moments, the meeting to "look at the china" and especially frank's teardown of tom's chances were the funniest this show has been this season

na (NA), Tuesday, 18 April 2023 14:11 (three years ago)

tom got wrecked lol

lag∞n, Tuesday, 18 April 2023 14:18 (three years ago)

this was the first thing I said--seems way overpriced

see AD post linked to above. Might be worth more.
