Love when Frank punched the wall of the airplane after Kendall asked to speak to the pilot

there's also this bit when connor first enters the war room where roman awkwardly takes connor's hand to comfort him, it almost looks like roman tripped or something. felt like a really pitch perfect expression of roman feeling guilty that they hadn't told connor until now and trying to overcompensate by being the compassionate brother he never was

Also Roman being skeeved out by physical contact with another human being.

the way Frank talks to/handles Kendall in that gentle fatherly way is so good, knowing that Frank is simultaneously ready to strangle hom

wonder how much of Roman's reactions came from the horror of his final words to Logan being that voicemail.

the horror of realizing that Logan will not, in fact, see you next Tuesday

I wonder if it took time for Armstrong et al to decide whether or not Roman would be on the flight (as Logan had requested of him) rather than be with the siblings at the wedding.

Nice touch that Shiv had been sent some time before to tell Connor that Logan wasn't coming to the wedding but she was just out there making small talk with randoms instead.

Solid episode, hard to follow up the previous one. Kendall up to his same old rhythms

The ambiguity of it is a perfect inheritance for Kendall — a final sign of acceptance and endorsement from his father, which he craves, but one that still manages to feel provisional and uncertain.

why would he underline, was he just really proud of kendall one day?

lol @ the repeated mentions of 'a piece of paper'. I have wondered at times if Logan had a standing nightly call with his lawyer to update his will based on who was in and out of favor that day, but figured it was much more likely that he just planned on living forever and wouldn't leaving anything official (and of course that's better for the show).

Karl just going all in on Tom was amazing, really underscoring that Logan really was only drawing him closer to fuck with Shiv and that not one other person takes him seriously at all.

It was also payoff for Tom snitching out the three kids' plans at the end of S3. Logan probably respected a guy willing to sell out his own wife.

For sure, just the way Karl absolutely crushed all of his misconceptions about his actual status in less than thirty seconds.

And Tom's last gambit to try and reconnect with Shiv, and her shutting him down despite acknowledging that she has zero friends or family who are really on her side (while being pregnant!), just brutal.

also gotta say, another phenomenal episode

The disparity between Tom and Greg flailing around in this episode was striking, like somehow Greg (even minus the whole "addendum on the piece of paper" thing) has moved even about Tom in the pecking order. Sure, his ingratiating sucking up is still pathetic, but all the dismissals from the family just kind of slide off his back, but Tom looked absolutely pathetic as he worked his way through the kids.

Roman seemed to have a more alt-right undercut than he’s had before, if I haven’t just missed it before now.

Didn't seem to be so much a nefarious plot as much as reading the temperature a bit with regards to each other. Also thought Tom was being a bit clever, trying to play the siblings off one another a bit maybe.

i think it was frank who looked at it and said something like "I'm not going to let that little princess spoil it", presumably meaning he left something big to Kerry or Shiv

I thought that was just derogatory of Kendall

he def says princess but yeah could be referring to kendall which i think they were cause then they start talking about the underline and about how legally its up to the board to decide whos next, so you have the underline you have the ceo succession question seems like theyre talking about the kendall thing, but it still doesnt explain their change of heart, one minute theyre jockeying for the ceo spot and talking about losing the document then next theyre telling kendall about it and rolling over for him, theyre up to something

Going to be a bloodbath in the markets, might just let him take the flak. Plus who knows what they know about that they might want to palm off on the kids.
