And attracting deranged right-wingers like flies

this is why he blocked me lol

Finally, for imbeciles claiming I'm crying or angry with the result, the reason Lula went from prisoner in 2018 to valid and then winning candidate in 2022 is because our reporting - based on our brave source - is what proved his conviction corrupt and freed him to run this year. pic.twitter.com/MtJ5YXKZNy

o jeez

Twitter apparently won’t let me search for Matt Taibbi tweets anymore, even when I use neutral words like “the” or “and.” pic.twitter.com/n3PmvaZvkQ

we're getting into downfall meme territory at this point

Tracer Hand, Saturday, 8 April 2023 23:40 (three years ago)

Still can't get over the fact that TWO DAYS AGO he was bootlicking away. That didn't help!

Ned Raggett, Saturday, 8 April 2023 23:44 (three years ago)

tbf its hard to respect bootlickers

ooops!

Oh well!

I guess Elon Musk releasing his private DMs with Matt Taibbi kinda clears up once and for all that whole kerfuffle in Congress over whether Musk was Taibbi’s source. 🤷🏽‍♂️

It’s also a reminder that Musk, a la Trump, is loyal to no one. A lesson Taibbi learned the hard way.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 11 April 2023 02:53 (three years ago)

the private messages were mundane and dumb to the point there really wasn't anything there outside of that context

mh, Tuesday, 11 April 2023 13:44 (three years ago)

yeah it was hard to tell what he was even trying to prove with them, other that hes a scumbag who will release private messages

lag∞n, Tuesday, 11 April 2023 13:50 (three years ago)

the only fact in there was that taibbi was part of substack's recruitment program when he joined

trying real hard for "see, he admit it!" but it's something everyone already knew. guess if you can have way too much time on your hands you can quibble about what it means to be an employee

mh, Tuesday, 11 April 2023 13:51 (three years ago)

kinda sad that we seemingly know more about Taibbi than Musk does

INDEPENDENTS DAY BY STEVEN SPILBERG (President Keyes), Tuesday, 11 April 2023 13:57 (three years ago)

maybe we should make some bad taibbi memes so he knows what the guy's about

we could get another round of "pedo guy" discourse

mh, Tuesday, 11 April 2023 13:59 (three years ago)

seems like one of musks core beliefs that hes such a genius he can just finger paint his way through life and everything will work out fine, and tbf it has, tho he is experiencing some trouble as of late

lag∞n, Tuesday, 11 April 2023 13:59 (three years ago)

had a moment of cognitive dissonance where I was thinking about how SV world is a mix of people who have actual research backgrounds and deep technical knowledge and some randos who managed to stand up a company that had "blogs" in the name in the right year and they're all just mushed together

guess people are smart and motivated (or dumb and lazy) in different ways

mh, Tuesday, 11 April 2023 14:36 (three years ago)

Taibbi was interviewed on WFMU yesterday by station mgr Ken Freedman -- https://www.wfmu.org/playlists/shows/126568 if you want to listen.

I dunno, when it comes to "most secrete" things, Greenwald's twitter feed is one of them.

glenn going fully with the network for people banned by youtube, they do pay him a lot tbf

immodesty blaise (jimbeaux), Tuesday, 18 April 2023 01:29 (three years ago)

I hope this means non-subscribers can live our lives never hearing or reading anything he has to say.

more difficult than I look (Aimless), Tuesday, 18 April 2023 01:31 (three years ago)

idk, personally I can't wait to read his latest article on gender issues

symsymsym, Tuesday, 18 April 2023 01:43 (three years ago)

I hope this means non-subscribers can live our lives never hearing or reading anything he has to say.

That has been the absolute boon of everyone paywalling the shit out of themselves. There are so many of these people — Taibbi, Greenwald, Weiss, DeBoer, Dreher, Sullivan, Yglesias — that I never see a single article by. Between that and not following anyone on Twitter who talks about them, I can go weeks without even remembering they exist.

but also fuck you (unperson), Tuesday, 18 April 2023 01:47 (three years ago)

yeah its very considerate of them

Or the money from the right was too good to pass up. I don’t think this guy ever was coming from some sort of deep rooted value system or moral core, just vaguely “anti-system”.

Gerard Grisey Funk (Boring, Maryland), Sunday, 23 July 2023 21:41 (two years ago)

yeah it seems more like a tactical decision, when he was on Ben Shapiro's show claiming that the left has no sense of humor anymore and comedy is the province of the right these days - motherfucker you were making the rounds on leftist comedy podcasts two years ago!

JoeStork, Sunday, 23 July 2023 21:56 (two years ago)
