i'm sure that's true, at the point just annoyed for how many outlets fell for his self-serving bullshit so easily (last I saw he'd pulled in $1.5 million since his "arrest" claim)

but i don't think he'll ever be indicted for any of those other investigations either, this is all just nearly* meaningless show.

(* - obviously i'm all for this shit getting aired out and documented, so thankful for the investigations to at least pull that weight)

Starting to think our justice system is overly populated with people who are legit terrified of his violent base, so they just keep punting on everything.

do grand juries usually take a month off before reaching a decision?

tbf media outlets are concerned first and foremost with audience engagement - trump's false claims about his arrest were a gift to them, and this delay is another gift

this hiatus was previously planned, not something they arbitrarily decided today. it's just that they didn't have an indictment prior to the previously scheduled hiatus

also it can be reconvened if Bragg decides to during said hiatus

xpost - yeah the reporting is (unsurprisingly at this point) worded terribly. they aren't taking a month off, they are taking two weeks off starting April 10th. so the reality seems to be more "we won't hear anything more for probably a month" instead of an actual month long break.

The break is due in large part to a pre-scheduled two weeks off beginning April 10, the day after Easter, according to the people familiar with the situation, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because grand jury proceedings are secret.

An indictment will likely be announced in the coming days. By then, prosecutors working for the district attorney, Alvin L. Bragg, will have asked Mr. Trump to surrender and to face arraignment on charges that remain unknown for now.

think the consensus here was it probably would happen but that it's likely just gonna be a fine equal to maybe 5% of the amount he fundraised out of this
