This latest bout of faux outrage over the term "cis" would be funny if it weren't so irritating.

Treating it like a slur is so weird, I've never heard anyone say cis in any kind insulting way. I also love the whole "it's an invented word" thing — unlike all those other words that weren't invented. Anyway JP probably thinks it sounds like sissy or something.

These are the same people who usually refuse to call a trans person by their preferred names/pronouns.

was the usage 'cis-sy' though I've only heard it said rather than written. But I thought it was some kind of silly word play on a term that may well be archaic now. That is as in what was said to the person the story is about and what spread from there in a giant game of telephone.
But could be the story is just overtaking the event anyway.
